This is not even a debate. Perfect Dark is better than Goldeneye, Hands. ****ing. Down.

Perfect Dark had a better singleplayer campaign. A more diverse weapon loadout, bots in Multiplayer, bringing the total number of players allowed per game up to 12. ON THE N64. It had co op. It even had a mode that is perhaps the biggest twist on the Co op framework in a shooter (or any game for that matter) called the Counter Operative mode in which the second player assumes the role of all the enemies in the level, jumping from foe to foe, attempting to take down the first player (who assumes the role of Joanna) before they can complete their objectives. It was amazingly fun to play.

Perfect Dark should go down in history as one of the best FPS's ever created. Goldeneye gets more praise simply because it came first and had an iconic character in the form of James Bond that damn near everyone knows about. It's really a shame PD didn't go on to sell 8 million on the N64 like Goldeneye did.

ya, I still got PD and GE on my 64 now. Brilliant games. But PD of course was better in every field.

Perfect Dark Multiplayer has....

  1. More weapons
  2. Bots
  3. More levels
  4. Better weapon change system
  5. Ability to order bots
  6. More game modes
  7. Actually customizable ability
  8. Create a character
  9. Secondary Gun Functions
  10. Disarming
  11. More innovative weaponry besides points and shoot.

Perfect Dark Campaign had...

  1. Co-Op
  2. Counter-Op
  3. and an original Story

Perfect Dark was everything Golden Eye was but better and more fleshed out. Its not even a contest. I don't know how anyone could like Golden Eye better. Perfect Dark is superior in every way possible from a gameplay standpoint, its not even a contest. Sure Golden Eye was more popular but it was not a better game. What arguement can you make that Golden Eye was better other then you like it better?Blackbond

Those things you listed are the reasons I STILL proclaim the PD is not outdated compared to other shooters. Can anyone name any other shooter where I am able to set matches with only tranquilzer dats and meat sims in an all-out insanse brawl? No. I STILL play perfect Dark today and I still prefer it to any other console FPS.

PD wins. It has some many multiplayer and single player options it is crazy. MostFPS today don't even have half the multiplayer options of this game.

After reading the "best FPS thread" and seeing Golden Eye nominated instead of Perfect Dark is a disgrace.

Everything about PD is better (except being a james bond game)

Even the other titles that didn't live up to their originals (PDZ >>>>> GE Rouge Agent)

Please, vote for your prefered game!

Goldeneye is just a better more rounded game. Just because Perfect Dark added lots more stuff that does not make it better...

How can anyone NOT say Perfect Dark? It took everything that was good about Goldeneye and made it better. The only reason you can argue Goldeneye was better is because it had James Bond, but that means piddles to me.

Perfect Dark isn't a clone of Goldeneye. It's a sequel using a different IP.

Of course it was, anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. Although, by today's standards, both games have aged horribly. Both games even with the expansion pack have terrible framerates that ruin the experience for anyone who has played Halo, Timesplitters or Unreal, grossly fast games in comparison. I have yet to try the PD Source mod, but I hear good things. I just wish console FPS's were made like Perfect Dark was back in the day. Allowing for "good times" to be had in places like The Facility.

No, Goldeneye was still better imo. Loved the single player, and had hours and hours of fun in multiplayer.
