I'm surprised they're not taking the Wii route. Persona was never about the graphics, and the Wii has a huge install base. Not that I'm complaining. I can't wait for the next one, and if it's any game that'll convince me to buy a system, this is it. (Should the rare event be that it'll be exclusive to Wii or 360)

Despite the fact that Wii has a large install base, it seems niche games don't sell very well on it at all. Look at the sales of some of the recent more interesting but quirky games. They've been pretty poor.
The thing is, Persona has had a decent amount of exposure to the public. This is purely speculation on my part, but I think that proportional to the development costs, they'd probably make more profit if they made it on the Wii than on the PS3. This is, of course, assuming it is exclusive to a single platform. The smartest choice is to port it to all consoles unless they're getting paid by someone for exclusivity.
I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't prefer Persona 5 on the PS3, but I would honestly take it for any system/handheld. I love the Persona series, so I'll take it anyway I can get it.

No way, I really want one on the PS3. High def graphics would make the already beautiful PS2 games look infinitely better. I'm getting kinda tired of the PS2 graphics.
Merely being on the PS3 doesn't gaurantee good graphics. See; Disgaea 3.
That's more the exception than the norm. With a new console comes better graphics, especially for a high budget series like Persona. Also, Nippon Ichi said Disgaea 3 was made trying out the system's hardware.

No, not at all. I have a friend though who speaks the lagnuage, so he said he would translate for me if I got it. Still, I don't know why I pre-ordered it.
I hope this is true. I just finished Persona 4 yesterday (And had beaten Persona 3 prior) and have to say that IMO it's the best JRPG since FF7 + 8. There's no doubt in my mind that I'd get P5 on day one, and I'm far more hyped for it than FF13/FFv13/WKC.
If so, congrats sony. This is the 2nd best rpg besides final fantasy series. Argurably have been better recently. BUt this isn't what I call confirmed. Still a huge rumor

You still have not played that yet? Shame on you. :P Yeah man! My 60GB PS3 got the YLOD :evil: the day before MGS4 released and I couldn't wait to get it repaired. So I bought a 40GB and have yet to get my 60GB repaired. Whenever I do, I'll get P3 and finish FFXII.
Why would you say that? Because it's rumored that Sony is going to announce LoD2 at TGS. I hope so... I hope so too :D But it's been 'rumored' since before the PS2 came out.. Is there any inside info?

Well one things for sure. SCEI Japan hasn't done much this gen. We can only hope they have been hard at work on this or something similar
