Persona 5 launching Feb 2017 in NA

Sorry, Persona fans: you won’t be dating new waifus and husbandos until next year. Atlus announced today that Persona 5 will be out in North America on February 14, 2017.

That’s five months after Japan gets the fifth Persona, and it might come as a bummer to North American gamers who hoped to go on cat burglary dates this year. On the plus side, at least now we have plenty of time for FFXV?

Well I got the Premium Edition preordered. That makes the sting of a 2017 launch hurt a little less. I hope @charizard1605_ is OK.

I played Part 4 via PS+ free games.

It's not bad but I don't know what I'm doing.

Isn't that usually what happens with jrpg's, US and Europe gets the game months after the Japan release.

PS3 version is still happening so I have no worries. Looking forward to next year!

Ummm wasn't this already known like a long time ago when Charz already made a thread on Persona 5 was gonna launch in February 2017?

Why they do this? i just don't get it. It's 2016 yet they can't provide the finished game in other parts of the world?

Same month as Horizon and Mass Effect. That's kinda dumb if they wanted it to sell to a bigger audience than just the hardcore fans.

My hype started to die for this game earlier this year. I wish developers would stop announcing games 3-4 years before they release. I really enjoyed 4 so I'll pick 5 up, but this delay isn't bothering me at all at this point.

Yeah I'm also wondering. This SE looks pretty hefty and I wish S-E would have took some notes with their special edition of Final Fantasy XV which is crap and at the same price. Also, where can I pre-order this?

Welp, next year it's competing with Mass Effect Andromeda for GotY. While I'm sure I'll personally find it better, I am no longer sure P5 is winning GotY anymore.

Assuming it a) Exists, b) launches next year, then c) sure, I could see it winning wide GotY next year. My point is it won't be Persona 5, Atlus missed the boat on that one.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Persona 5 main character is a guy so that husband thing won't be happening. I don't know why anyone would want that in the first place unless it was to make fun of the main character for a bit.

They just reaffirmed a 2016 release a couple days ago during the big blowout on IGN. I think they know they can't delay it again.

I should have quoted the Mass Effect part. Both apparently being dating sims.
