@charizard1605: Oh I should have known that. But I guess with a reply like that I'm getting to you, :p

Oh, but most of them will because they already have a PS3 or PS4, ROFL!
@kvally: @finalstar2007: Not to mention what about all the multiplat games PS fans won't be able to experience like Halo Wars 2, Recore, and Cuphead? Lol FinalStar fails again.
@charizard1605: Lol well if it really doesn't bother you that it was delayed, good. But after everything you said and how hyped you are, it's hard to believe.
@charizard1605: That whole reply to conan sounded like straight up denial and bargaining lol. It's so obvious it bothers you.
If you say so
I'll live.
Am downloading Persona 4 Golden for my Vita. I am going to MAKE myself like these so we can game together in Feb brohamacles!!!! (Yes we're greek gods now)
I refuse to believe this!
<3
Just pre-ordered now. I can wait til feb. So many rpgs to play for the next few months and FF XV hopefully will be up to par :)
FF15 looks great! The only thing I am worried about at this point is the performance haha
Should I try that FF15 demo again? I gave up when I was running around on someone's table.
So we have Zelda, Yooka-Laylee, Persona 5 and Horizon Zero Dawn all coming in the beginning of 2017... Jeez.
In fairness, how many Xbox one owners are on this forum are feeling like they are missing out on this game? That question is to any who will answer not just you, finalJRPGlova2007. As you don't feel you are missing out on certain games on the Xbox. Besides, anyone can buy/own a PS3 and play the game without touching your precious PS4
Glad we finally have a release date. Now I know what days SW will be particulary entertaining. The boxart looks just as sleek and stylish as the rest of the game.
I got that lol. I've always pointed out the hypocrisy of people calling Persona a dating sim, and then turning around and praising Mass Effect in the next breath.
I can assure you, that hte gaming communities such as that site which shall not be mentioned, also call BioWare games dating sims and quite frankly, give those games a lot more heat for the dating sim elements than they do with Persona. Probably because those in Persona being a lot more well implemented, and thus more tolerable.
Not to mention, Persona has a lot more in common with dating sims than Mass Effect does.
@kvally: You gotta be a PS fan to play this though. You don't need the Xbox brand for anything. lol
Why do I have to be a PS fan? I am certainly no PS "fan". I am a consumer who owns a PS. I don't sit and root for those guys sitting in Minato, Japan for any reason. You don't have to be a fan of anything to play a game. Just a consumer with the money. You cows are so in love with that eastern weenie.
@cainetao11: Welcome, fledgling otaku. Embrace your new passion!
LOL thank you for the welcome my friend!! I try to remain open to things and although I have enjoyed some anime and manga in my life I definitely would qualify as fledgling LOL

Same here, it's a slippery slope tho, can't totally give in, I dont think my gf would understand waifu pillows f.e!
@cainetao11: being a PS fan is the equivalent to being a gamer.
Translation: You love Lamp
Artbook, Anni OST, DLC, CE Box. Actually less stuff but the DLCs are wall more interesting than a lackluster steelbook, plush and bag. Hoping those DLCs don't become retail preorder exclusive but that's likely the case.
Gamestop = Persona 4 costume set
BestBuy = Persona 3 costume set
Amazon = Izanagi/Orpheus set
Walmart = physical poster
^My guess
I think I actually prefer the US special edition. I like the physical stuff more and the japan version just had a lot of dlc which im sure will come to the west in some way

The left side is a large portion of the game though where exams and gift giving are super small. This diagram doesnt take into account the relevance in the game and it is pretty slanted in my opinion. Also Simplistic Combat, what dating sim is matching persona combat?
Wonder if it's being delayed internationally because they plan on making it an NX launch title. Hey, if it's a hybrid, I'd totally bite.
@ConanTheStoner: I'm honestly not bothered by this news at all lol. Like, there's not even a little part of me bummed at this. I think the fact of the matter is that February isn't too far from the date I was expecting, which is October, and it honestly works better for me, considering free time and shit. That, plus I think the fact that there is an actual concrete date to look forward to. I'm not feeling bummed at all. I'm pretty okay with this all said and done.
Now, if this was, like, July 2016, I'd have burned shit down.
Be careful about what you read. With the 5 month gap, there's bound to be people who will go out of their to post spoilers and ruin your day. :P
Why they do this? i just don't get it. It's 2016 yet they can't provide the finished game in other parts of the world?
Given how good their translations usually are, the voice acting is usually well done, and how not big of a studio Atlus is. Actually yeah that makes a ton of sense. It's almost like, this is going to sound crazy, but unlike a shit load of other pubs/devs who bet way too much instead of playing within their means only to then lose a shit load of money, Atlus has a found a way to stay creative and make a quality product, by just budgeting themselves accordingly .
And that type of mindset comes from a company whose biggest popular game is waifu bait, what a world.
Welp, next year it's competing with Mass Effect Andromeda for GotY. While I'm sure I'll personally find it better, I am no longer sure P5 is winning GotY anymore.
GG Atlus.
Sorry bro but Red Dead 3 has GOTY locked up next year.
Sorry Holmes but Zelda got 2017 in the bag

Didn't know that , interesting.
Kudos to them.

It honestly doesn't. I guess at some level, I'd resigned myself to a release date next year and prepared for it lol.
Should I try that FF15 demo again? I gave up when I was running around on someone's table.
Nah, don't.
Sorry Holmes but Zelda got 2017 in the bag
The last good console Zelda game was over ten years ago. I wouldn't be so sure.

I'm pretty sure I'll have something or the other spoiled, I'm not worried about spoilers per se as much as I am about having something major spoiled. I did have Persona 4's culprit spoiled for me ahead of time, but it did surprisingly little for my overall enjoyment of the game.
I think I actually prefer the US special edition. I like the physical stuff more and the japan version just had a lot of dlc which im sure will come to the west in some way
But they had a full soundtrack compendium, and we're just stuck with a limited soundtrack in this one ;__;

That's a ridiculous Venn chart, it specifically takes tiny portions of Persona's setting and gameplay and lists them in the central column, which have no impact on the overall gameplay, while ignoring several similar elements from Mass Effect.
lolol. Dealystation 4 is at it again. Well its just persona so the whole world wasnt gonna run off to get this crap. No one bought Disgaea 5 last holiday lol. Among those other turds like Tales of Ass.
Bu..bu its coming 2016 guys you'll see... Scratch another game (no one cares about) off ur list sony fanboys. Hoirzon comes out in March 2017( Unless delayed again lol) No mans sky( Again no one cares for hits PS2 title) Now Persona 5.
Sony loves lyin to you about release dates even tho we know they are no where near finished . Sony why u always Lying lol. No games this holiday unless u want cash grab PS3 GT Sport lol
The hell does Sony have to do with this game?
I can't believe all of the whining and complaining over a 5 month waiting period for this game. Don't get me wrong, I love the Persona series, and I'm excited about it, but as a Yakuza fan I guess I am used to it.
Yakuza games take around 3 years to come to us, and we get half of them, not all of them. So 5 months is really not bad at all, it could be so much worse.
Consider it a taste of what it is like to be a Yakuza fan.
@charizard1605: Ah set yourself up to where you wouldn't be disappointed. Smart. Well at least it has a release date. That's a start.

Not many people are complaining about it, to be fair.

Yeah, I think that's the other thing. Instead of a nebulous 'launching in September to December this year,' I have an actual date to look forward to. I think that takes away the sting far more than if this had just been '2017.'
The left side is a large portion of the game though where exams and gift giving are super small. This diagram doesnt take into account the relevance in the game and it is pretty slanted in my opinion. Also Simplistic Combat, what dating sim is matching persona combat?
Yup, Persona is primarily a jRPG. But the thing I am arguing for is that Persona has a LOT more in common with dating sims than either Mass Effect, Dragon Age or the Witcher.
The first 2 on the left. Are generally unrelated to the dating sim section, and due to a relatively poor interconnection (outside of some bonus exp on new fusions, and a few new abilities for allies). The social sim and the dungeon crawler really werent connected all that well... comapred to how several otehr games pulled of several layers.
The gift giving and the exams arent exactly big parts of dating sims either. But they do exist as a part of the game. Whereas these types of elements do not exist in games like Mass Effect 3 or THe Witcher (It did exist in DAO though). No Dating Sim has combat that is near Persona, but that is not what I am arguing for, what I am arguing for is that in terms of combat depth, both are on the shallow side of the sepctrum. Persona combat is a huge step down from SMT: Nocturne for instance, especially P3 where you couldnt even control companions, unless you played the PSP version.
My stance on Persona 5 is a huge wait and see. If P5 removed the remaining vestiges from the dating sim genre it clearly inherited from, I might be interested in giving the game a shot. But if they still have the same crappy old schedule management simulator bit and pick right response game utterly gutting someone who might have wanted to roleplay in their roleplaying game, then I have no interest in playing P5. The social linking section is what I couldn't stomach with P4, not the dungeon crawling.

Ya the soundtracks would have been nice, but there do package 5's with it and I still have 3 and 4's soundtracks already, so its not a huge loss to me
Still too much to play this year and I'm going to be work on platinum in Uncharted 4 and getting 1000 in QB. 2017 has this, ME and Horizion, Scalebound? Damn, good year it will be,
Don't forget Zelda U, and I agree.

This is such a slanted view though. The social sections in persona are as relevant to mass effect's hanging around the ship, its character building. Does being in a relationship with Miranda get you anything when you are in combat? Does hooking up with Trish make Geralt a better Witcher? They are just character building aspects of the game, but since persona has an anime art style and is set in high school it is automatically dismissed as a dating sim when in reality it pretty much does the same thing as a witcher or a mass effect. The social and the dungeon aspects of the game made sense for the story the games were telling and really were more connected then you make it seem. The combat depth is not as bad as you make it seem either, Elizabeth took me a long time to beat and I had to strategize a lot for that battle. The argument that persona has a lot more in common with dating sims than either Mass Effect, Dragon Age or the Witcher, is a non-issue as all of these games have way more depth than dating sims. People only compare it to dating sims to diminish what the game is and in doing so ignore large portions of the game.
