What if the game will be released on December?

Jeez, Char, had me worried for a second that the game was cancelled or something bad happened.

I had doubts it would make it in 2015 anyways. First off these SMT and its derivatives have typically had a moderately lengthy Western localization, and given the game never had a window in Japan for first half of 2015 I figured any release after that meant a 2016 release for the West. That's okay though, my plans for getting a PS4 have been pushed back a bit anyways, so this works out a bit. Maybe it'll be worth the wait, like after this Chirstmas they'll release a new SKU and maybe price drop or make better bundles and such.

I knew this game wasn't going to be released in the US this year. Never believed them.

@charizard1605: I know how much you cared about P5 because its in your avatar. Don't worry things should be fine. What do you think of this game? Hopefully this will take your mind off of Persona 5.

Big games rarely come out in December. It wouldn't be in Atlus's interest to release in December. If it does get pushed back to 2016 (almost certain now) it'll be February or March.

@nyadc: Edge magazine's ps4 article has it as TBA for 2016 for European release. So March is probably pretty close.

Atlus games often get staggered by years (years plural) in Europe.

Persona sucks anyway so no big loss.

I was hoping for a dark styled strategy game with FE and SMT characters teaming up against villains from each series and demons but nope, I get the two worst games in their retrospective franchises crossing over.

Still at school. Visited Compendium for first time with my team of two and passed first floor ( game teaching me basics of combat ). Looks quite stylish so far. Gameplay on hold from there as i'm busy currently lol.

The only thing that pisses me off of Persona Emblem is that they're not calling it Persona Emblem even though that's what it totally is.

Any point in trying to find/play P1 and 2? I've only ever heard gushing about 3 onwards. Seems a bit like GTA almost, where the 3rd one was a must play blockbuster where the first 2 were only ever decent?

No, if you value your time and your sanity, skip 1, 2:IS, and 2:EP.

That said, 2 has the best cosmic cycle in the series, so maybe read up on its story once you're done with 3 and 4.

No, actually. They're more like dark psychology/philosophy. The series didn't move to its anime aesthetic until Persona 3.

The problem with the original two games is how badly they play. The first one is just a mess, it has awful dungeons, nausea inducing first person navigation, and battles that can literally take over an hour each. The story is not that great either.

The second game is actually two games, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, and the setup of those games is amazing- even the gameplay isn't bad in theory (the negotiation system in Persona 2 was great at the time).

The trouble is how badly Persona 2 has aged- when it is hard to walk half a dozen steps without a protracted random encounter occurring, for example, it is hard for me to recommend the game.

Persona 3 and 4 are great- amazing story, great characterization, incredible music, and some very unique gameplay and mechanics. Essentially, all the Persona hype and discourse that you hear is about Persona 3/FES/Portable and Persona 4/Golden. So those are the two you should look at playing.

He said that they will announce a Collectors Edition at TGS and it will release in Japan this year but US/EU next year.

It can't release in Japan this year, it doesn't exist.

For a second thought it got cancelled, was all set to begin the hard drugs. delay I was expecting, was hoping for 2015 but sadly it didn't seem possible.

Predictions:

Japan release November 2015

Western release April 2016

Don't worry... Even if delayed it will release eventually and we will enjoy another amazing title in the series !!

At least they have something to wait for.

Man, I don't even remember the last time there was a five month delay between the North American and Japanese release of an Atlus game.
