PETA is ridiculously out of touch with reality. Out of all the issues facing hummanity today (overpopulation, water and food shortages, human rights violations, education, war, disease, and global warming, to name a few) they choose the well-being of dumb beasts over that of humankind. And it's not even real! It happened in a videogame!

Seriously, I'm suprised some people can't comprehend actions in video games as opposed to real life. Totally agree. Movie showing killing of animals is even more gruesome than video games, I remember I watched Apocalypse Now the other day and the cow killing scene in the end of the movie was really violent!

**** PETA. Sometimes those people make so much non-sense its irritating. They protect animals that wouldnt be so thankful to them if they ever encountered one. While some of their causes are good( protecting whales, animals in extinction) idiosyncrasies like these are ridiculous!!

And they are defending an animal that was responsible for the biggest dicease humanity has ever seen.

wonder how these peta people would react if they were in a situation where and animal tried to attack and kill them for some reason would they just let them attack and let it kill them?

plus its a game meaning no rats were harmed in the making of the game, but on the plus side at least they are ok with the fact you kill people in it right?

PETA really is an insult to the entire concept of an advocacy group. There are so many actually legitimate complaints about animal cruelty and yet they chose this? I do remember the hilariety of PETA's president a while back saying that though animal produced insulin is "evil" for humans to take, SHE alone could take it because she fights for the animals.

Is that so? Well, then I guess humans have been engaging in "animal cruelty" since the beginning of human history. They've only had movies and computer games in recent decades, so I guess the previous inspiration must have been some crazy concept like human nature or survival.

even if they killed a real rat, I would not care. we kill rats by the millions every year. they are not an endangered species.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an environmentalist and have actually occupied myself with animal rights protests in the (far) past, but things like this are lame by any standard.

In Crysis you can torture chickens by throwing them around, you can kill about 30 sharks before you run out of bullets. Even in WoW I like killing every cute little innocent squirrel. Yet PETA complains about a filthy sewer rat full with diseases who attack you and you even gave the rat some opportunities to f*ck off?
