Quote: Firstly, he told us that he now wants to debut the game as soon as GDC in March next year - not that long to wait, considering the project was first mentioned six years ago.

However, he said that Microsoft was cautious about showing it so soon: "Everyone at Microsoft who's seen it is super excited about it - I mean there's just this huge anticipation for us to finally show it, because it is so unbelievably ambitious", he said.

But he told us that Microsoft wants to "shock and awe" the games industry when it's shown for the first time, which could mean the unveiling takes a bit longer to polish and get ready. It visibly troubles Peter not to elaborate, but at the end of the day it's Microsoft's say on when and how it gets shown.

He also told us the game will receive major attention when it's finally shown, not just for its innovation ("there's nothing else remotely like it ever before"), but because it's seriously controversial: "Especially with the current timing, this will be really, politically contentious", he told us.

So, Molyneux's next game, as soon as GDC 2009, and expect the forums to go wild. But what about his next game beyond even that? It's clear that's nowhere in sight yet, but interestingly, Molyneux wants to know what we think he should pursue beyond Fable II and Project X. "What game would you like to see me do next?", he asked. In the past, he's suggested a soccer game or a first-person shooter - but games in these genres are "all the same", he joked.

This might be the project Peter talked about to win the noble peace prize and feature in science magazines.

That part interest me the most. What kind of game would this be? Obvious its controversial politically, but its an even bigger emphasis that Peter Molyneus announced its controversy, this is a game design that didnt hesitate to include same sex marriage in Fable II !!

What ever it is, I have a feeling that its definate going to shock and awe. So far I can only guess that it'll be rpg like.

I have a friend who's met Peter and he told me the guy is under the influence of illegal substances quite often. I don't doubt it either, I mean he talks like a burned out rock star.

 Well the only thing I can think that will cause controversy will be dealling with events on 9/11. Or maybe the Holocaust or genocide.

I know the title of the game is. George W. Bush. You will play as dubbya and dictate the world. Invade countries, or lead your nation into some kind of meltdown(relax I know it isn't his fault). You make the choices.

Is it a mortal sin to be swept by Molyneux's hype train?

Coz quite frankly, I'm getting tempted.

And the funny thing about that is that everyone actually listens.

This is how I feel. Fable 2 looks AWSOME! He also has gained respect in my book for admitting his shortcomings something which Dennis Dyack could learn from. Humility goes A LONG LONG way and because of Peter's humility, I am now excited for Fable 2 and am very interested in this next game. I also take much of what he says now and just smile. Someone who is so passionate about gaming and who puts out good games gets alot of respect in my book, again Dennis "my game is the greatest!" Dyack could learn a thing or two from Peter.

what is great about peter is that he gets you to think about the possiblities of his vision. he makes you realise how awesome it is when you think about it i sthat all you can do is be impressed. H ecan make a simple concept be bigger then it actually is.
