Level 1 and 1 post? Wall of text? Do you work for activision?punkrocker163even if they don't work for activision, I'm not reading a wall of text just based on those credentials. Activision has become the EA of this generation. They don't care about new IPs and just want everything to be a yearly sequel cash in machine. Then when a former game that they chose not to exploit gets great press at an event such as oh lets say E3, they go to "OMG SUE!" mode, IE Brutal Legend.
Oh, and I just read the user name "IW-Designer"
Yeah, I just think this person wishes they could work for Activision. I doubt anyone at Infinity Ward would come to a systems war board and type such a horrible, incomprehensive, wall of text.
The TC is just the type that has no backbone. Wont stand up for himself, anyone or anything. Just goes through life letting anyone and anything walk all over him.
I'll continue on my "crusade" by not buying mw2. I couldn't give a monkeys if it sells millions; It's not something I'm going to support. You make a stand and even if you fail you can still say you tried. That and you can rub it in peoples faces when there whining about stupid pricing points and first day map packs.
[QUOTE="devious742"][QUOTE="IW-Designer"]Activision is a business, and as a business it already looked at the price elasticity of the game. The game is soooooo popular by their understanding that by increasing the price, it wont have a negative impact on sales but in fact only more profit. Dont you guys think we already thought this through? Thats why I laugh at the whiners who are petitioning against MW2 not only is it not gonna do anything, and not only will it not negate the popularity of the game, but most of the people petitioning are still gonna buy the game !!!! LOL People like that disgust me, these are the same people who think that loyalty deserves and get mad when exclusive titles become multiplats. You guys dont see the business behind things. Im glad they are making us gamers paymore just to show how pathetic the petition is and that it wont cause a dent. Not only will it sell like hotcakes but it will sell more than the original, count on that. Most people who play this game arnt gamers who spend thier lives on websites :p Petitions for silly stuff like these get me so mad, its people like that that causes violence in our schools and an increase in crime rate. COD4 was the first FPS i bought this gen for ps3 and i still play it to this day, not even KZ2 got me off it, the only other game i can think of is battlefield bad company but there are hardly and players left :( Anywho, i would like to thank activision for increasing the price just to shaft gamers and let them whine to no avail. And anyone who says, "well im def not gonna buy it", i laugh at you to because your not gonna do anything with your lack of purchase. I think we should take this time to bask in the glory of activision. on another note, ill be pissed as hell if there are less maps in this game than the last one. People complain about dayone map packs but if its adding map pack quantity, then its not shafting gamers its just adding to it. SparkyProtocol
You = :|
i think u are right... I took it down
You want Activision to listen? Don't run an online petition but a mail-in petition. If everyone opposed to the idea started sending form letters directly to Activision voicing their complaints, I doubt it'll slip their minds that their plan isn't popular. Even if they eventually chuck out the petition letters by default, their mail room will still have to sort through them to make sure they don't miss legitimate mail.
Well thank you Mr. Kotick. I'd like you to know that I'm not buying any Activision games whatsoever. You're glad they're making us pay more? You de-fin-ite-ly do NOT work for Activision especially since your user name is IW Designer. I wonder ever so much what "IW" could mean?
Let them do what they want. Petitioning will never work and everyone knows this. So just leave them alone.
I wanted to do something similar, but I am sure that it is against TOS.[QUOTE="SparkyProtocol"][QUOTE="devious742"]

But if i quote it, it will live on forever...
My understanding is that the latter is a prerequisite for the former.Either you work in the PR section of activision, or you are just incredibly stupid....

That said, I still plan to buy the game. I couldn't care less about Activision's plan to charge more, or to move content into DLC, or whatever. It's a simple question: they have a game, and they want $60 for it. Is it worth $60 to me? If so, then I'll buy it. If they move too much stuff into DLC and it's not worth it anymore, I'll wait until the price goes down or skip it entirely. If they make DLC I want, such as some of the Guitar Hero songs, I'll buy it. If they make DLC that I don't really want, I'll skip it (I haven't bought the maps for CoD:WaW, for instance).
Activision is well within their rights to maximize revenue, but they have to compete with EA and Rockstar for my gaming dollar, so there's a limit to what they can get away with.
Im just glad activision doesnt make any of the games i actually like...so not buying MW2 is a super easy decision for me..i just hope other developers dontget ideas from watching how activision works and start doing the same thing to franchises i like..There are alot of negative trends this gen in gaming and its starting to get me worried, luckily im passing my prime videogame playing years
Yeah i was thinking about that too. English is not my native language so i'm not sure i can write a good letter. You want Activision to listen? Don't run an online petition but a mail-in petition. Day one map packs and an increase in thestandard game price. If they get away with in then just wow.
I'm not sure I see the point of a petition for this sort of thing. Activision have clearly decided that their product will be competitive at that price point and increase their profit. Fair enough, thats business and its their prerogative to make that call.
If you don't like it or decide the game doesn't provide value compared with a competitors product, the best way people can vote or let Activision know is with their wallet.
i hope they do just to make you say wow. You obviously are not business, put yourselves in activision's shoes as a company trying to make profit. Don't you think the already thought gamers would allow themselves to be shafted? Clearly they did the research, they just wake up one day with these great ideas.... Stop blaming activision, blame yourselves. Many idiots cough up money for some limited edition as if its going to ever be worth anything. Although the prestige edition of mw2 is arguably the best edition ever.Day one map packs and an increase in thestandard game price. If they get away with in then just wow.

But the problem is that, out of all the games in the universe, MW2 is the LAST game that needs a price increase. It is going to sell millions upon millions. They would make massive profit even selling it at $49.99. Selling it at so much just isn't neccesary. I know of many, many people who are skipping this due to price. Asking so much for one game is unreasonable.
That's absolutely true. Activision is exactly the kind of company who don't care at all about what You think.I'm not sure I see the point of a petition for this sort of thing. i think as a company, they already forsaw this whole boycott. And they figured that the profits will still be higher with the loss of those few gamers. Trust me, you guys are an insignificant bunch to the larger casual community who buys these games . And if say something does go wrong, activision can lower the price like the hand of god, in an instant. Do not doubt big business.[QUOTE="organic_machine"][QUOTE="IW-Designer"] i hope they do just to make you say wow. Well enjoy ripped off, i know i wont.
Quick question, how would you feel if MW3 costs $70 (standard ed.)?
People still try to petition? Save the time and email them instead. Hits them harder and they actually read it.ZythylActual physical mail is the most effective. There is nothing like a huge pile of hate mail sitting on your desk for a wake up call that you are doing something your customers disapprove of. THis also works with government officials and TV shows. It shows that you are really serious about the issue if you write a letter, get up off your ass and actually mail it.

i will gladly pay if because it will be great. In fact, I hope it is so more money can be given to activision. from the looks of it, the next cod from IW will be on next generation and might be more like $65 as standards pricing for all games next gen will probably be, and plans might be for future warfare (thats just my guess). Treyarch has vietnam next, do not buy that piece of *hit.i hope they do just to make you say wow. Lol screw that, I don't know how any gamer can think their benefiting from getting milked dry from a greedy game company. I'm not even opting to buy CoD WaW at the cheap price it is on steam. Screw Activision.
you think anyone would employ this guy? Yes probably Activision themselves.[QUOTE="punkrocker163"]Level 1 and 1 post? Wall of text? Do you work for activision?hy4k

as much as i hate activision for doing this i got to admit...its modern warfare 2. no other fps game can touch COD4 let alone modern warfare 2. here in cananda new games are 69.99. if activisions trys to raise the price then....:evil:ill still end up buying it:|
There are plenty of games that touch CoD4. They then grab CoD4, drag it behind a wooden shed, and beat the hell out of it.as much as i hate activision for doing this i got to admit...its modern warfare 2. no other fps game can touch COD4 let alone modern warfare 2. here in cananda new games are 69.99. if activisions trys to raise the price then....:evil:ill still end up buying it:|
