[QUOTE="BanMido76"][QUOTE="KC_Hokie"] FF XIV was released broken. It was terrible. Worst MMO I've ever played. I've played worse. But they have fixed some of the problems. The only main complaint I saw from FF14 was that it had a terrible menu system which isn't the end of the world. I played it for a few weeks, you would expect it to be of at least FFXI launch quality, plus updates and modern features, I was a person who pre-ordered the CE and everything, so I was mega hyped going into it. The problems range in a few directions, most of which are core and unfixable. Classes feel useless, you don't need to form solid sized parties covering different expertise, so no one really wants to party. Every class misses a lot, all the skill and magic animations are bland as hell. There is a stat to increase HP and another to increase MP, the other like 4 stats do nothing noticeable, even if you put like 50 points into one. You can have like 99 DEX and you still miss a lot more than is acceptable. My biggest issue is that while the few story quests it has are cool, the quests you do over 90% of the game are just text, and there is only a couple different kinds, FF11 didn't have a ton of quests, but they usually had a purpose, a little cutscene where it zooms in on the NPC, etc. This is just you click on them, a box comes up with text explaining the quest, and your reward. Its completely soul-less, like the rest of the game. On top of that, no one talks, even in the guilds I joined, that also makes the game feel soul-less. Soul-less-ness seems to be the problem in all aspects of the game. Add to the fact that there is about 3 areas you can go to for 90% of the game, each of which is about 20% original and the rest very copy pasted. Lots of games copy paste, but at least rotate the rock ramp, shrink it, do something, don't make me run down a hair-pin style ramp then 2 minutes of running later in same direction, another ramp 100% the same with same grass placement, same direction and everything. It is such a lazy effort, at the very least, turn the ramp, maybe make it a different size, maybe only use half of it next time. I don't know what they did for 8 years, but at this rate it will take them 8 more.
