Henshaw starts running a demo that shows 30,000 or so asteroids, all of whose positions and movement are culled from real NASA data. The asteroid show up on a big screen in the Xbox 101 demo room. They're all purple.
"Doing all of this computation would require a little over 10 consoles from the last generation,"

Simply brilliant. MS is innovating while Sony is just taking the safe route.

Why cant Turn10 use the cloud processing for night/weather effects and Auction house? I have emails out to both Turn10 and MS, seems like a no brainer to use all this cloud power on things people want. Haven't heard back from either yet though.

Who races when it's raining. Also night racing is only for le mans, no Indy cars race at night.

the cloud computing stuff is interesting no matter what people here say. But I'm in the wait and see croud. I want to see this in real games not tech demos. Until I see this in real games with them showing the difference between everything being local and using cloud computing I'll just put this on the back burner for now.

Then they should use to push FPS to 90+, should be a piece of cake for a console that has 10X the power of the 360, don't you think?

because that has nothing to do with graphics and power,it is a design choice and probably they prefer to focus on other things that might be more important to them? remember the ''forza can't do more than 8 cars at once*? it was a design choice..then they later added more cars on the tracks.

For a racing game 60 is enough. Also I believe it does have clouds in forza 5 because they showed them in the trailer. ;)

Couldn't they include that with the design with all this infinite power? They should have like 50 cars now with all that power, after all its 10X more powerful than the 360. Seems like Turn10 is being lazy and not taking full advantage of what is being offered to them.

Not this again. From that one XBLA game lococycle is the only one that used a PC. All other games were running Xbox One devs kits unless you have proof of it otherwise. yes that includes more  than one picture and lets see the game kiosk.

sure it can! with the cloud the possibilities are limitless, Just use your imagination! X1 will surpass everything and not even the PC will be able to match the graphics, fidelity, resolution or frames. You sold me. Just say that out loud to yourself 10x the power of the 360 :o

because the calculations that the cloud in theory is doing is CPU based,it won't add better textures or more impressive effects that are GPU dependent.

LOL 30000 asteroids? My PC could do that easily. It's not that hard. Each Asteroid has a constant vector, making it very easy to calculate the positions at the same time.

well it can be done on the A.I side which without a doubt is something that you cant put a value on. So look for X1 to have vastly better A.I. Deal with it cows, and MSFT keep buying them servers from Azura, make it a million!!! since im the only gamer that is going to be stuck with you.

Henshaw starts running a demo that shows 30,000 or so asteroids, all of whose positions and movement are culled from real NASA data. The asteroid show up on a big screen in the Xbox 101 demo room. They're all purple.

Talk. The PS2 can launch Toy Stories. Translating recorded data from your driving in Forza 5 into an AI profile, is the only actual practical application I know of so far. That concept in itself is really cool, basically turning human behavior into AI. But you wonder how long it'd take for the Xbox One to do that work itself, how much you're actually gaining by sending that to the cloud instead.

it will work on the a.i side, if you lose connection or connect it will switch off to preset A.I There is enough latency to do that. graphics no, but down the line you will see very innovative uses of the cloud and its bound to work where you notice it. That will be a nice experience for me, a first actually.

lol, battlefield 4 with the cloud must be equivalent to 7790 crossfire if we were to assume that game ran on devkits

additionally rumors were already stated that there were xboxone games running on PC.

This isn't surprising considering 360 games during the initial e3s were on PC as well (few used Macs).

360 demos units

Developer or not, the latency is the problem. A.I is not bad, physics however would be a disaster. Lighting would be tricky.

[QUOTE="Tessellation"][QUOTE="Heil68"] sure it can! with the cloud the possibilities are limitless, Just use your imagination! X1 will surpass everything and not even the PC will be able to match the graphics, fidelity, resolution or frames. You sold me. Just say that out loud to yourself 10x the power of the 360 :o Mr720fan

because the calculations that the cloud in theory is doing is CPU based,it won't add better textures or more impressive effects that are GPU dependent.

well it can be done on the A.I side which without a doubt is something that you cant put a value on. So look for X1 to have vastly better A.I. Deal with it cows, and MSFT keep buying them servers from Azura, make it a million!!! since im the only gamer that is going to be stuck with you.

The best AI in all X exclusives and 3rd party games? Bookmarked...hahahaah

the A.I could still be good or bad the only thing the cloud in theory does is taking the load off from the console CPU.

Well they said we would never put a man on the moon, so we'll see. I'll necro this thread in a few years to see what has actually transpired.

Not going to work, sorry.

dream431ca

i didn't said is going to work, and i don't know if is going to or not to considering the fact i am not a developer and you either ,i only said what it could handle since is CPU based.

Developer or not, the latency is the problem. A.I is not bad, physics however would be a disaster. Lighting would be tricky.

A.I can be done because you just drone them out when you have a loss of connection, and you will notice it I bet, thats when you know the cloud is paying dividends. Everything else, dont know, maybe lighting, maybe large scaling worlds like Elder Scrolls where it knows if you go open up a new location to compute ahead, I think cloud isnt such a joke as people make it out to be.
