How much is max download speed right now?
santoron
i guess he doesnt have the answers? To make a statement like he said I thought he would know the answer, guess not, latency is the only thing you really have to worry about when it comes to the cloud, they can dedicate a stream of speed im assuming for cloud computing. I would think a mb would be suffice, but who the hell knows, you can have compression all types of stuff, i dont think MSFT is putting money into a made up lie.
Nah, I just move around from conversation to conversation, forum to forum, and even offline ( ). If I knew you had your panties in such a bunch I might've hurried back, but prolly not.
The average internet connection in the developed world hovers around 8mps (some less like the US, some more), which translates to 1MB/s. The XBone's memory in comparison can chug through about 68,000MB/s, and even that was deemed too slow to keep up with the CPU and GPU needs and has been augmented with ESRAM. As I said before, that 1MB/s simply doesn't move the needle compared to what the local console can do on its own. And we haven't even Touched latency yet.
The idea of "the cloud" meaningfully enhancing your local machine's capailities is a fallacy, though (as I stated before) there are meaningful ways servers can enhance multiplayer games. Of course, most people have known about the benefits dedicated servers can provide for some time now. Here's a DF article on the subject if you want to look into the numbers further...
...oh and PNF, don't let your panties get so twisted next time, just PM me and I'll get back to you. Or, you know, Google. :|
yes i can PM you... and still would like to see it in action before i make definitive statements. will read article.
