Phil Spencer vows to improve Microsoft's PC gaming

If you are not satisfied with Microsoft's PC gaming efforts, you may be happy to learn that the company's top gaming boss Phil Spencer has again vowed to make things better in the future.

Next month at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Microsoft will host a session titled "The Future of Xbox Game Development for Windows," during which new information may be divulged.

This is top priority. Get rid of all the limitations; fps counter blocks, mod restrictions, access to file locations.

Better solution would be to make all games available on Steam and other digital platforms.

@frank_castle: Yes. And when the windows store exclusive games don't sell, it'll be PC gamers who get the blame as opposed to cooperate incompetencies.

Micosoft should be leading the charge as an authority, as demonstrated here, they have no grasp of the pc gaming culture, viewing it as a simple (exploitable) extension of Xbox.

How can it be fixed? These Windows Store games are UAP, a completely different breed. It should be noted that Windows Store is Microsoft's approach against PC piracy, since the Windows Store cannot be cracked. All those limitations are the side effects of their DRM.

I guess they are simply convinced that people dislike Denuvo more.

ADD: The article is really worth a read in full. It details Windows Store's issues fairly comprehensively. Regretfully, it's not something as simple as flipping a switch to fix. To fix it, you'd probably have to magically replace the foundation of an already constructed building.

For me personally using the windows store renders at least £800 of my hardware totally useless my second graphics card (no sli) and my Gsync monitor (vsync always on), only MS would be the utter noobs to pull this kind of crap and create these problems that dont even need to exist.

Nearly every one of the windows store problems affect me directly as i use nearly everything that doesnt actually work :-/

Xbox Head Phil Spencer 'fixes' PC gaming (which never needed fixing, not that he would have any clue about that) by giving PC gamers Xbox One 'exclusives'. The man is a complete dick. Experience with PC games and PC gamers: 0. Success with cementing Xbox One as a viable game platform: 0. Catchphrase for both PC gamers and Xbox One gamers: 'I hear ya' no matter what they are begging for at the time.

Eh it's only a matter of time until MS makes the games on the windows store "controller only" to play online and Xbox One and PC have fair and balanced cross play in all games on Xbox One and Microsoft Store games.

Then of course PC people would bitch and whine. While MS tries to make an all around gaming network and give people the option to game on console or PC, yet play and speak with everyone on either platform.

You do realise the PS2 has an internal hard disk drive and lan , the PSP had remote play, and the PS1 supported 4 controllers.... but lets overlook that.
