Well you can't really pick fairly until you see some reviews or better yet play the game but i will say i am most impressed by Bioshock from what i have seen, i wouldn't be surprised if it is....the next Resident Evil 4.
I hate to be 360 only but Mass Effect,Bioshock, and Halo 3 look to be the best games of the next holidays.Although all next gen systems have good looking games coming.
I say Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect, or... hmmm.... either Halo 3 or Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but chances are Halo 3 will probably be the likely contender since this is Gamespot after all.
Your on fellow sheep. SMG will only win because EVERYONE will buy it. Old, young, somwhere in the middle, mario always appeals to everyone (save the cows) i even know lemmings who like mario to a certain degree so yeah. SSBB is only for the younger 2 generations.
I didn't choose Halo because a console FPS will never get GOTY as long as PC exists. With games like Crysis and UT3 it would be hard pressed to see it win. I think Crysis will have a bigger impact then UT3 so I went with that.
Mass Effect has the right staff behind it to be a GOTY title. KOTOR was slightly edged out by Wind Waker so there is no doubt in my mind its a the least a contender.
Metroid Prime 3. When has Retro not delivered AAA? This series has a GOTY and one of the highest rated games of all time. Metroid Prime 2 suffered Majora's Mask Syndrome. Which means the original was so good the sequel could never hope to live up. But games of this nature tend to bounce back nicely and when you are bouncing back from AAA it can only get better.
