picked up a ps3. pro's and con's

so i picked up a ps3 after going back and forth. i've owned both consoles. i got it with the shadow controller which is similar to the 360's because i like the 360 controller so much better. So far i'm not sure if i made the right choice. GTA IV is really blurry and a lot of the multiplats the quality isnt there. You can tell these are ported from the 360. I'm not sure if i wasted my money and should return it and get another 360. MLB the show is nice. Most of the exclusives are nice but every multiplat is a downgrade imo. plus the controller isn't as nice to me although the shadow controller rectifies some of that. I dont know if it was worth the hastle? free online, more headaches... For some reason the ps3 hurts my eyes in some games where i never had this issue with the 360. The graphics aren't as clear and are more washed out. I'm mainly just a gamer here and could care less about blu-ray. The ps3 has some nice exclusives coming that made me do this.

The multiplats are perfectly fine. 360's look slightly better, but it is what it is.

I don't find it disappointing at all. You get a great Blu-Ray player, a great device for streaming media to (much like the 360), free online and a great exclusives list (much like the 360).

It seems like you are just looking for things not to like about it. Just take it back and switch it for a 360.

Um.. really? You are going to say the PS3 looks blurry? And it hurts your eyes? That must be your tv because the 360 and PS3 only have a tiny difference in graphics for every game, and you usually don't even notice them. I have never seen a dramatic difference between a multi-plat game, I think you are seeing things...

I have owned both fof the consoles as well and I must say that I feel like some of what you are saying is either a huge dramatization or exaggeration of the truth. Multiplats on the ps3 look great, and some people prefer them to the 360- I personally believe that while the 360 so far is utalizing lighting and shaders a little better(havent played killzone 2yet though!), they are both very similiar graphically. Maybe you accidentally got a ps2 dude... lol

It's funny that I've never had these problems and you must have eagle eyes if you can spot these so-called differences in the multiplats. They're negligible at best.

Hm what TV are you using in the first place. PS3 is meant to be played on a HDTV set and the multiplats released on both systems have very minor graphical differences.

First he said he traded in his 360 for a PS3 and he loved it and he made the right choice, then he said he didn't make the right decision and that he took his PS3 back and got an Xbox 360, then he's a lemming for a couple of weeks, now apparently he has a PS3 again somehow and he's complaining about it and acting like he just bought it.Messiahbolical-

Didn't GTA IV for PS3get a better overall ranking on gamerankings? The multi-plat differences are extremely exagerated as I have also at one point owned a 360. But to answer your original topic:

PS3 Pros: Great hardware, feature packed, reliable, solid, best list of exclusives and just keeps getting better.

Cons: None.

Anything in your home that is glossy black attracts dust easier than other things. I keep my place and things clean hence dust collection isn't an issue in my household.

It would help a lot if you adjusted your graphical output settings. If you're playing on a SDTV, then that is your fault and not the fault of the PS3.

Cons: Online not near as good as XBL, 360 has more games that the PS3 dosn't then Vice-Versa, Bad controller (still haven't fixed position of analog)

i have both ps3 and 360 on the same tv set and have compared same games back and forth and on most you cant tell a difference (SF4, SC4, RE5, DMC4, Bioshock, and cod4) and all look almost identical!! RE5 just had a lil lil bit difference in sharpness!! but other multiplats like orange box and "GTA4"lookeda bit moredifferent but still it wasnt too where your eyes would hurt!! bet hes FAKING buying a PS3!

3) if this post is of any truth (which it isn't because a few weeks ago you claimed you bought a ps3 and switched to 360 and now you act like you just noticed problems with the ps3) you forgot to get an HDMI cable and playing in SD and that's why the graphics are soo washed out

yeah i was thinking that aswell, my friends got RE5 on 360 and i have it on the PS3 and to be honest i cant notice a diffrence....but then again some people are way too picky about things nowadays.

It seems like you're looking for reasons to hate it. Question #1: Why did you buy games that you already had on the 360? I maybe wrong, but the "Made my eyes hurt, looks like port of 360 version." seems to imply...

Logically, wouldn't you try out the exclusives? I mean, maybe I'm just too much of a sheep, but c'mon, multiplats don't really matter

why can't someone post an opinion without being flamed? I do have a ps3. I've gone back and forth the past several days and i posted that. I did my research and have owned both consoles in the past. I just can afford only one. I took advantage of best buys 30 day money back policy here. thats the only reason i've gone back and forth. I just want to make sure i get teh right console for me. It's not an easy decision. I'm not trying to knock the ps3 here lol. I bought one. I'm just posting my concerns. Get a grip.

The first year the ps3 came out, the 360 destroyed the ps3 in its multiplates, RB6V for example, but now the multiplates are basically the exact same, 360 will have some sharper textures, ps3 will have some better lighting, same stuff in the end.

that's not it dude. I have it set up on HDMI. It's a known fact that a lot of the multiplats are blurry on the ps3 and not nearly as clear. It's bad for your eyes.
