picked up a ps3. pro's and con's

Why would you waste your time and money on multiplats for the PS3 when you already have a 360? I'm sorry but I'm gonna need some proof because this thread sounds kind of fishy.

i had a 360. i've also owned a ps3 in the past. it's not that big a deal. i just was looking for one system here because i cant really justify owning both. it's known that the ps3 multiplats aren't as good. this is not as big a deal as you are making it out to be. I was jus tpointing out what i dont like about it.

Why the hate for GTA IV? it was overrated yes but still a good game

99% of all multiplats are identical. There are a few multiplats which look better on each console but you can only see those differences if your using a HDTV. The way the TC goes on about the PS3 games looking significantly inferior just shows he doesn't have a PS3.

i didn't buy gta iv btw. i rented it. i had it for the 360 and just rented it for compariso sake. just because i pointed some things out suddenly means gta iv sucks? like i said i've researched this to death and have played all the big exclusives and multiplat games.

i laughed when he said GT4 looked blurry. when IGN, and Gamespot reviews, and other review sites said GT4 for the ps3 looked better. spike6566

there are a ton of people who think what i'm talking about. google gta iv ps3 and blurry and see what you come up with. it's not me dude.

just as proof i've played these games with rgb set to full and super white on and also on default settings.

the exclusives are clear. a lot of multiplats have a washed out effect. most multiplats if not all of them are being developed and then ported from the 360. this is a known fact. No they aren't supposed to be that way.

Ugh do you have your 360 on HD and your PS3 with SD? The differences in the multiplats I have played are minimal at best.senses_fail_06

When the screen is **** up or there is some inconsistency it bothers the hell out of my eyes because i have very good eyesight. Think about it. If i have 20/20 vision and am looking through a filter like im looking through a pair of glasses that is going to **** with my eyes and do damage to them.

The exclusives are another story and are very clear. I researched this to death and tried all sorts of different games as comparison.

I own a wii, never play it, I owned a 360 for a year then sold it to make some quick cash, I liked it, I thought it was a great system but I was scared of turning it on sometimes because I didnt know if it would be the last time I would, I have had the PS3 for two months, own GTA 4 and MGS4 and have rented Reisitance 2

So far i'm not sure if i made the right choice. GTA IV is really blurry and a lot of the multiplats the quality isnt there. You can tell these are ported from the 360. I'm not sure if i wasted my money and should return it and get another 360. MLB the show is nice. Most of the exclusives are nice but every multiplat is a downgrade imo. plus the controller isn't as nice to me although the shadow controller rectifies some of that. I dont know if it was worth the hastle? free online, more headaches... For some reason the ps3 hurts my eyes in some games where i never had this issue with the 360. Fanboy comment. From all the comparisons of multiplats the 360 looks slightlly better at best, and not even noticeable until you comb the screen with a magnifying glass. Take your goggles off please.

Yeah we've been over this....Wifi + HDD +Intercooler+ XBL EVERY YEAR can easily put you over the 400 dollar mark.

there are several posts all over the web about the blur in the ps3 version man. It's a known issue with the ps3 version. Get over it. The same goes for mlb 2k9 and the jaggies. Fallout 3 also has several known issues on the ps3 version. So does nearly every other multiplat.

So a fanboy saying it isn't true must mean it isn't? Since you are asking for proof from me, how about you give me some why it isn't true what I'm saying? lol. Because it is.

Intercooler is important if you want to avoid overheating your 360 and plan to do everything you can to avoid RROD. Wifi yeah it's optional but I only run 1 long cable so the one of the consoles have to be wired, which isn't a complaint since it's faster when it comes to downloading stuff.

not really, i just don't know if i made the right choice. i went back and forth for months. For one console it's just a bit disapointing that the multiplats are the way they are.

I'm pretty much doing the same this year although i may keep it this time. I'm still not sure if it's worth it, that's the only reason i posted this. I sold my 360 a while back because there isn't anything major coming out for a while but i'd still like to have 1 console.

also played killzone 2 forgot that one. I've played all the major games. I'm not knocking the system here and my intent wasn't that. The exclusive games look great. My problem is i jsut want to have one console and the multiplats so far are kind of sketchy. The community in these games for the ps3 isn't as good either. Most people buy their multiplats on the 360 if they have both.

I did not purchase any games because im within a 30 day trial and you cant return opened software. I'm smart like that. The games i have currently are gta iv, madden 09 and mlb the show 09 which are rented. so pretty much i can play a ton of games in 30 days and only pay the rental charges for the games. Shhhhhh. I might keep it though. I really want to buy one console but i just dont know which one yet so i figured i'd get teh full experience of the ps3 and make a desicion.

yeah i had that and mgsiv and uncharted before this. i was happy with the exclusives. i did that first. i just rented a few multiplats for comparisons sake. ive had mlb 09 all along because thats the main reason i want the system. I'm just not as happy with the multiplats as i was with the exclusives is all. Madden looks nearly identical. i'll give the ps3 that. GTA IV there is noticeable blur and i'm not making that up.

I've researched this crap to death man. I'm not just saying that. I do that whenever i buy a game system. I try it and put it through all the paces. I do this stuff for work and it's just how i am.

I'm sure if Intercoolers have a tendency to melt consoles there would be a lot of consoles. Not saying it didn't happen for your friend but it's gotten positive reviews from what I consider credible sources, for the 360 anyways.
