Too bad it uses the PS2 design. That's the only flaw.

I agree, but not entirely. Nintendo has been using a new marketing strategy with the DS and Wii. Basically, they use cheaper hardware and add something that is meant to "replace" what is lost with something "revolutionary". The Nintendo of the past is not the Nintendo of today...

What a lot of people were trying to say is that if all the console companies try to use this marketing formula there will be no need for high production value games... Trust me, MS and Sony definately took notice that Nintendo was making a profit off of each console as well as selling more units. If they all take this approach, the only ones who will get hurt is the "hardcore" gamer crowd.

I don't know about you, but I would really like dev teams to continue making games with stunning visuals and be forced to spend millions upon millions in development. It won't always make it a better game, but I think we can all agree that games with more time and effort put in usually end up better than the shovelware we've seen on the Wii lately.

1)Motion sensing isn't a new idea from MS:

2) Thats a Nintendo prototype from 2001.

3) The Nintendo prototype is actually a great idea, it gives you the functionality of the Wii (IR could easily be added) but also allows you to use standard gamepad controls sans motion sensing.

I'm calling fake on the pics. Why would they change the analogue set-up which so many regard to be the best for console controllers? Even sony-fans were asking for the PS3 controller to have the d-pad and left stick switched around. They wouldn't go backwards and make it worse.

Besides, that controller looks more like a dualshock. It doesn't resemble the xbox pads at all. If they were going to make a standard xbox controller which includes motion sensing, they would use the standard xbox design which people are aware of.

If its true, and it works well whats the problem? It seems like a great Idea motion sensing and good graphics. 360 also has the best games this could turn out to be a good thing for gamers. Who cares if they are copying nin everyones been doing that from the start.supermanfarr

Um, what? while playing gears of war i hated how the d-pad was under the left stick. when i tried to switch to a shotgun a lot of the times i hit up in the d-pad and switched to the pistol instead..

No way in hell id want the dual shock to have something like that, besides got any proof that sony fans actually wanted this?:?

Looks cool. I welcome any decision by Microsoft to do this. The 360 has awesome graphical power and online gameplay, just add motion sensing and it will make it an awesome console

True. I disliked the Xbox 1 because it had avery smallRPG library, while the 360 has a good RPG library (its bigger than Wii and PS3 RPG library, thats for sure).

I saw a patent that looks just like that a while ago. It was very similar at least... I think it was from Nintendo. Maybe it wasn't a patent but an early prototype.

You guys speak as if it's difficult to add a motion sensor add-on for a billion dollar company. You can easy implant previous titles like Gears or Haloon a motion control much like how there are motion controls releasing for the PC market utilizing titles like CS ect. What is really gonna settle the difference for xbox360(Microsoft) is if they diverse themselves to deliver casual titles that do deliver and more importantly gimmick the hardware. What has Nintendo really done but appeal and push to that audience. I mean come on some of you 'hardcore' gamers' are giving Wii bragging rights for titles likes Warioware, Super monkey ball, Rayman RavingRabbitsand many more casuals titles. Hey but I'm not mad at Nintendo I mean why wouldnt you do it if you can make such basic titles and sell phenominally and make mouch more software sells compare to 3yrs-4 of a dedicated title like Metroid or Zelda. Honestly not even missing anything on the Wii cause years from now it'll be the same old title being release with the casual appearance and that's great but I like dedicated developers on any given sunday to make Worlds that come to life (eg) UT3, Bioshock, Gears, Half LIfe2 ect.

Edit: But for the love of god please give us more then these FPS Microsoft dear god it's just to many that doesnt even live up to the standards of a great game overall.
