Ugh... I strongly prefer the other route Miyamoto mentioned. Pikmin 2 was a much more enjoyable game for me - I liked the freedom to explore at my own pace and knowing that if me and my Pikmin were fairing poorly we could just return to the surface and farm Pikmin / resources.
When I'm being timed I honestly get a bit stressed out and have difficulty enjoying myself.

i'd have to agree with this, i play games to relax in most cases, not a big fan of time limits in general.

But I'm glad you posted (and have been posting) about this game. I never tried Pikmin, but threads like this have piqued my interest and I'll probably give them a go when I get the time.

people should support pikmin 3 , i mean its the best effort from nintendo (sadly) to please non-casual gamers so if we dont buy this....

so much this!!! Miyamoto said himself that the trend these days is to make games more casual and user friendly, but what Nintendo is doing with Pikmin 3 is testing to see how a deeper experience fairs. What was shown at E3 was an expansion of the Pikmin series rather than a streamlining which has happened to pretty much every IP so far. Buying Pikmin 3 would suggest to Nintendo that we want more complex games that force us to manage and strategize. I think that's really worth supporting.
Also, since this is System wars, the last Pikmin game earned a 9.3/10 from IGN and a 9.2/10 right here on gamespot. The series is of very high calibre
