Lmao, Gamespot... if it had way more cutscenes and less gameplay, it'd be a 10/10.

Anyway, I'm loving it. Plays very well & looks great. They've refined the Pikmin formula to perfection.

Dude, its a cheaply made game for kids. 7/10 is incredibly high for what it is.

Pikmin has become my favorite Nintendo IP. It is unique, the environments are beautifully crafted, it’s quirky and amusing, it exemplifies what I love most about Nintendo.....their creativity and willingness to think outside the box (not only hardware, but game concepts as well), and I find it to be a peaceful, relaxing RTS. Hardly a "chore", as GS puts it, I find it incredibly enjoyable to lead my own plant army and have them doing various tasks at once. There's much enjoyment to be found in allocating resources to different tasks and watch them work. It’s one of the most gratifying series of games I’ve ever played.

I can understand the 7, as Pikmin is pretty niche and has a limited appeal. But I love it, and don't care what scores it gets. It's, IMO, Miyamoto at his best. Downloading now.

You can be having a shitty day and want something to change the mood and Pikmin is that game.

Today, my sixteen year old tabby went to the promised land. The two games that are cheering me up are P4 and Animal Crossing. Why? Because the games are fun and nothing to serious or rage inducing!

Typical Nintendo shovelware. What? You thought Nintendo is capable of producing 9/10 titles? Nah, its one or two per generations, and that's enough.

Umm the switch have produced 2 AAAAE’s already. That’s 2 more than PlayStation or Xbox have produced this generation so far.

@pixievalerie: yes, the GS reviewers got brainwashed by the movie games on Sony systems. Now they only rate highly cinematic movie games a 9+ or higher. Disappointing to be honest.

So Mario Odyssey and Zelda TotK are movie games now?

Think before you post.🤦‍♀️

Damn, sorry to hear that. Hope you're dealing alright. But sixteen years is a pretty decent life for a kitty.

Yeah, gaming always helps. When I was fighting a chronic illness many years ago it was my escape and distraction from the misery of treatment, and Nintendo wares always made (and still) make me smile. Pikmin notably, it's a game that helps me chill out.....don't know, there's something strangely cathartic about watching them work. Wish this series were more commercially successful; I suspect it is Nintendo's reward to Miyamoto, his pet project they let him indulge in for being such a boss even though it doesn't sell tons.

Imagine if Tetris was reviewed today. "OH NOES, lack of CUTSCENES and pretentious story telling"... 6/10 avoid at all costs. XD

They wanted Star Trek like drama as the Pikmin space ship crashes. Losing control on the "bridge", tears and slow motion as the Captain goes down with the ship. Inspirational music playing like that of the rousing speech from Independence Day...

If gamespot gave it a 7/10 then the game is a 5 at best. You know how nintendo bias works.

@sakaixx: It’s the opposite with SonySpot. You have to had two points to every score. Pikmin is a 9/10 GOTY. The whole world disagrees with SonySpot. 89 Open Critic, you know how we Ball 😎

Would've been cool if someone who liked Pikmin reviewed the game. I wonder what kind of games he usually plays, cause a 7/10 would be a really good score from someone who plays movie games. Actual gamers seem to rate the game higher.

I was away for a while so I hadn't had too much time with the game until recently. It's absolutely fantastic so far!

It's en route to join the all time best Switch games along side Breath of the Wild and Metroid Dread. This series never misses

Pikminmaniac likes Pikmin.

Anyone knows how long the game is? We talking Pikmin 2 or Pikmin 3? Thought Pikmin 3 was too short, which is why I'm asking. 2 was perfect.

It's interesting to see the reception of Pikmin 4 with a 7/10 rating from GameSpot and an 88 Metacritic score. While the scores indicate a generally positive reception, https://apkbgmi.com/ it seems the game may have some room for improvement according to the reviewers.

Thus far it has been a fun ride. I'm only in the third area but there has been plenty of things to do. The game is way too easy though. 3 seemed much more difficult way back on the Wii U days.

@Litchie: while it was very likely I'd like Pikmin 4 because of my love of the series it was no guarantee

Breath of the wild became my favourite game of all time, but Tears of the Kingdom was a monumental let down in almost every way. I did not like the direction they took at all.

This game seems to take after pikmin 2 and the length seems to follow suit. It does correct the biggest issue of Pikmin 2 with making the dungeons hand crafted. They were randomly generated in Pikmin 2

Yeah, I was just foolin.

TotK is good, but BotW was a more wow experience. I'm not dissapointed by the game, couldn't put it down. But I very much miss traditional Zelda.

What you're saying about Pikmin 4 sounds awesome.

Oh really? Hope it gets harder later then.
