The full quote "Wow, this is the best controller I?ve ever had from Nintendo for a hardcore first-person shooter,"
You a journalist?
I'll probably disagree. The Wii Mote is the best thing outside a mouse.
[QUOTE="GamerwillzPS"]Can't be any worse than playing shooters with a dualshock 3..

'Hardcore first-person shooter' and 'Nintendo' in same sentence. LoLThe Gamecube controler was fantastic, ergonomic and light. It was just terrible for shooters. Luckily the Gamecube had plenty of other games.
I hope the Wii U tablet is comfortable like the Gamecube pad and good for shooters, that will make it the ultimate joypad.
I didn't think the GameCube controller was that bad when it comes to shooters. My time with stuff like TimeSplitters 2 and Star Fox Assault (on-foot) was alright. If there was any genre that had it worse, it was traditional fighters (like Bloody Roar, Soul Calibur II, or Dragon Ball Z: Budokai) as it can get confusing with the button layout, but even then it still wasn't that bad because you can get used to it.The Gamecube controler was fantastic, ergonomic and light. ?Of all the controllers, forget about the Wii U or the Wii, it?s the best shooter controller I?ve ever played with. So we?re really excited the platform is coming, and we?re really excited we?ll bring our game to it.?

Fixed with the full quote.
I like Gearbox but it has been pretty clear for a while now that Randy likes to hype things in hopes of sqeaking out more sales. The Wii U will probably only have a few FPS in the launch window. This is just a way to get the games name out there....
He's making Alien Colonial Marines. The potential for a motion scanner and other cool stuff on the tablet is huge with that game.

I said terrible but I suppose I just meant bad.
The C stick is thin and difficult to leave your thumb on, and the shoulder buttons were just not quite right for triggers. If the C stick was more like the control stick, and the shoulder buttons were more like the Xbox shoulders it would have been perfect.
Incidently, thats what the Wii U seems to be like.
I cannot believe that. The Wii U controller just doesn't look that great for shooters. I have not tried the controller, But it doesn't look to be the best design for first person shooters. Did Pitchford pull an "All nighter"? Which is a great way of determining if a controller is comfortable. The Wii U tablet is not the best design for first person shooters anyone just by looking at it can see that.
It should be noted that Pitched does state the "he ever played with" meaning he has played many shooters. So he could be telling the truth in that he hasn't tried keyboard/mouse, or Dualshock/Xbox 360 controller. or even wiimote/PSmove controller.

Starfox isn't a FPS what kind of shooters do you possibly think the article is talking about?what else do you expect a dev to say ?guy is trying to sell a game lol. you dont even need to touch it to see its not the best just by the size and button placement.

That game played like Halo but it was 3rd Person instead of first Person. Also you ignored where he mentioned Time Splitters 2 which is a 1st Person shooter.[QUOTE="D1zzyCriminal"]

it could totaly destory the other consoles easy. Its got the gyros and a touch screen which both could be used far better then krappy analog sticks that were never good for fps unless it has tons of auto aim.

Lol.
[QUOTE="hiphops_savior"]Apparently it's because it's only hardcore if it uses the archaic dual analog controls for aiming and shooting.campzorLemme guess, keyboard and mouse isnt archaic? Heck of a lot more accurate for shooters, I still use gamepads on the PC for sports, racing and Batman games.

'Hardcore first-person shooter' and 'Nintendo' in same sentence. LoLC_Rule
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there were these two games called Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark that defined FPS on consoles. You should look into it.

The only hardcore shooter is Call of Duty.what defined FPS on consoles was Halo.
Gue1
Wrong. Halo defined the Xbox. FPS was limited to crusty ports of Doom before Nintendo came around with the analog stick and trigger. Most kiddies probably wouldn't know this, but N64 was the first-person shooter console. Goldeneye 64 was a social phenomenom and sold around 8 million copies.
Hell, I remember playing Quake III on DC online, even cross-platform. Only Xbots think Halo defined anything.
