ROFL B/C on 360 is even pointless. the original Xbox games only had a couple of good ones compared to the PS2 and Gamecube. it's not like you'll miss anything if you didn't have B/C on the 360.
and LOL at #2. total fail.

Opinions are great, aren't they?
[QUOTE="reanimatedchamp"]Let's go through these one by one. 5. Lack of Backwards Compatibility After all this Sony talk on how they will support backward compatibility, they did an 180 and took out PS2 backward compatibility. That's like taking away your good kidneys for no reason. 4. Playstation Network (Online Gaming) Xbox LIVE continues to lead the way while Playstation Network is still in its infancy. If Sony wants to get serious about online gaming, they need to bundle their PS3 with a headset. 3. Updates Removing Features This is the most saddening of them all. Not only every other update might cause Playstation number 3 problems, some of them might even remove a feature that you probably have no idea about this. This is a scam in my opinion, it's a bait and switch scam. When you buy a product you expect all the features to be there forever. 2. A Half-Assed War on Piracy The PS3 is so hackable but I can not discuss details about it. All I have to say that their war on piracy is ridiculous. 1. Following Instead of Leading Sony has always followed than lead. Every idea that became successful that other companies came up with, Sony are the first ones already brain storming what can they copy and use and brainwash the public that it was their idea or that it's a better idea than the idea they have copied. I'm serious as cancer. This article needs to be written in stone because these words of truth would turn your hair white as if you were Moses after talking to the burning bush. PlanetXbox360.com just told the public what is already known, no one should be surprised by the words they have spoken. Unfortunately some of us learned the hard way, in my personal educated reality of opinions.Persistantthug
5. There is PS1 B/C. But the article and you almost imply that they took away PS2 backwards compatibility FROM YOU. When you buy a PS3 slim, you know it doesn't have PS2 B/C
4. PSN isn't in an "infancy" stage. In fact, it runs and works well everyday and is supported by every developer that supports online in their games. It might be interesting to some if it had mics, but I personally am glad I can play BCBF2 without the bad behavior that IVE PERSONALLY WITNESSED on XBOX LIVE.
3. I am a little angry about the OTHER OS thing, but the writer of the article implied if this were done to XBOX LIVE'ers they would be in an uproar and wouldn't stand for it. That is laughable considering they stand for RROD and EGREGIOUS failure rates and paying to play random games online TWICE. Yeah right...as if XBOX LIVE'ers have strong principles now, right. lol
2. Dude, When you show me a Hacked PS3 playing a pirate GOD OF WAR 3 or UNCHARTED 2, you really have nothing to say here...seriously. There is no such thing as a pirate hacked PS3 on EBAY or CRAIGSLIST anywhere. Let me know when you get one. This is perhaps the most laughable point of all 5.
1. Everyone Copies everyone. Sony Copied the Wii remote...Microsoft copied the Sony EYETOY. Sony came out with the EYETOY first though. But really, who cares....everyone copies everyone. In fact, everyone copied PONG. The end.
you fell for a troll. and made some poor points along the way. with botched information.

But ppl wanted to complain about the price, so thus it had to come out for people to afford it.
If you did not buy an orignal PS3 back then, it is well your fault for not getting BC. Ppl would rather complain about the price.
The 360 cant play last gen PS2 games so why isnt the guy complaining about that? It can hardly play Xbox orignals.
All of that could have been summarized in 1 reason. "I am an Xbox fanboy"

Yea hardly and more of a hassle. With the older PS3 models. They wereplayable right out of the box.
With the 360 you can only play what is selected on that list, must update your console to play them and not to mention have one of those overpriced hard drives MS sells.
ButI believe only a select few gamers especially whiny ones that come on SW will use BC because when most ppl buy new consoles they wanna play new games.
There's nothing wrong with PSN In FACT, if you like palying your console games online and for FREE, then its the best tomarlyn
But teh $50 live iz sooooooo good!!111
Lol....
I mean, considering this is planetxbox360, it shouldn't really come as a surpise that they wrote this, but I was curious how many of you here agree or disagree with their 5 headlining points?
5. Lack of Backwards Compatibility
Old models still play any ps1 and ps2 game , , any ps3 play any ps1 game.In comparison, xbox 360 plays only some titles.Put everything in the table and it's almost the same thing.
4. Playstation Network (Online Gaming)
That should be a pro , not a con , it's free and I didn't feel like having something bigger when playing on live.Same thing.
3. Updates Removing Features
Linux , which less than 1% used AND the 360 always lacked, it's not like they removed it for their self pleasure , it's to prevent piracy , which the other two can't be proud of , eh?
2. A Half-Assed War on Piracy
What ?It's the only console still clean , but ok let's play your game , it is a half assed war, what about the 360 , can it brag about any resistence , let alone war, against piracy?Yeah , that's what I thought.

Hardly = over half of the X-Box's library and 90% of its quality games? That's the oddest definition of hardly I've ever heard. I own like 60 X-box games and I can count the number that don't work on one hand. And the update? Oh what a big hassle, 5 seconds of my life I'll never get back
And of course you need a hard drive, the original X-box had a hard drive.

2. A Half-Assed War on Piracy
Yandere
What? None has been able to pirate games on the PS3, the same cannot be said for the other two.
actually pirating on the ps3 is completely possible, theres just no reason too since its probably cheaper to just buy games in the end for ps3, they probably don't care since if you pulled it off you probably bought a sony blu ray burner and sony blu ray discs, either way they are getting money or royalties on itI mean, considering this is planetxbox360, it shouldn't really come as a surpise that they wrote this, but I was curious how many of you here agree or disagree with their 5 headlining points?

5. I buy current gen systems to play games in the current gen. BUT, I agree this is annoying not to have it anymore. I just don't see this is a deal breaker.
4. Wait what? They won't buy a PS3 because it has free online? I don't think I understand this one.
3. What features? The linux OX feature that hardly anyone used, and I guarantee they wouldn't use. This might be annoying to not have like number 5, but again, NOT a deal breaker
2. ?? I don't know what this means.
1. The games are awesome. I'm not sure I understand this one either.
So 2 of the reasons are nit picky (not necessarily deal breakers) and the other 3 don't even really make sense at all. Pretty sad list.

He has a "Few" points, but any of them have been discussed to hell and back allready, it's like me making a article saying that I will never buy a 360 because of RROD...whats the point of beating a dead horse, and even those beaten arguements seem so weak compared to how well they have been convied in the past.
"I'm sure if MS removed features with a firmware update people would be flying off the handle!" What could they remove that is anything like Linux support? Nothing, so he has nothing to base that assumption on. I could go on but it's pointless to waste time on such a poorly written document, there are far more better reasons that someone might not want to get a PS3.
Like lets say...
It's still the most expensive Console despite price drops
It's missing key features users have been demanding
You can't replace the battery packs in the controllers! They are you to get your money! *Quoted by the manufacturer of battery covers*
He makes wild assumptions are outlandish comments. On Linux support: I sure hope the airforce didn't accept the update!...when the hell is the airforce going to update any PS3 they are using for computational power? Considering they probably have the systems stripped and networked together as a processing hub and wouldn't even use the PS3 interface at all.
So before you say 125 failed to read his article...did they even need to? It's easily broken down for the laymen in the OP and he has little to no support to backup his weak arguements, any of those can easilly be said or twisted upside down for the other systems.
Xbox. Charges for Online!
Breaks all the time!
Never supported Linux from the get-go might as well say they don't support Linux Piracy either!
Ripped off they Eyetoy!
Absolutly no control over Piracy!
That took me...what 12 second to think up? I just didn't add a forest of text to each statement attempting to make those sound like actually valid points. God...I guess I should have known not to read that considering the source.

He was right, most people didn't read the article, and it was obvious by their responses. You can say "they didn't need to," but there was no way for them to know that when they were saying it was crap without reading it.
The most obvious sign no one read it is the sheer number of people who thought by "Half-Assed Piracy..." he meant they've done a poor job preventing piracy, which is obviously not what he was talking about. Again, I disagree anyways, but he was accusing them of using anti-piracy measures that affected too many innocent users, picking unfamiliar formats like UMDs and Blu-Rays, which judging by his tone he thought negative choices, and getting rid of Linux.
I'll do you the favor of not responding to the dozen or so silly charges you made at the 360 in response, since you weren't actually making them but parodying the author (although you did seem to relish it:P)

2nd 360 BC sucks *** I can only play1% of good titles 99% garbage titles and not a large amount either.
3rd PSN online gaming is the same as 360's, I know cause I play both on numerous occasions.
4th Updates are updates and then have been adding a hell of alot more then removing.
5th 360 has way way more piracy then PS3.
6th following only because a year late if released at the same time it would be a different story, but they are catching up so when it does all they'll do is bash something else. Point is their dumb ***es that talk with their mouth and not their brain just like any typical fanboy.
My Xbox items are only my response to the inane PS3 comments. We all know the Linux removal isn't the most positive of things, but for the choice audience that it targeted I would say a mere 5% of PS3 users even know it exists let alone use it and thats being generous!
When you compare the feelings of 5% of your userbase to the millions your going to hemorrhage in piracy I think it was a wise choice, wether there is a "Work around" or not it prevents pirates from enjoying any benefits of updates until those dedicated "Nerds" he speaks of get around to cracking a code meant to stop them. They are not always expedient when you want them to be
I'm still unsure where many of Sony's anti-piracy gambits have really hurt the consumer. With Linux aside as a extremly nich consumer base that was not worth the financial risk. Blu-Ray wasn't mainly for Anti-piracy that was icing on the format war cake, Sony now sits atop the HD disc format that is standard in homes worldwide and without the PS3 it would have been a protactred battle with HD-DVD. Sony now gets to rake in some cash for that, along with the rest of the BD association that I assume would have only added more pressure on Sony to throw it into the PS3 no matter the cost. UMD's I can't see how it was really thought of as an Anti-piracy agent, considering handheld piracy was in it's infancy compared to today...if I was a gambling man I would bet Sony used UMD's for the superior storage capacity to that of cartridges and stay ahead of the tech curve from Nintendo.
all in all, the summary in the OP sums up the articles opinions in a point blank form and cuts away the authors poorly informed opinions. Perhaps if the author himself did a bit of research before writing this peice he would have got some support from people who didn't praise/worship/slaughter virgins while wrapping there system in a towel attempting to bring it back to life.
again I'm not just pointing out that the author is a fanboy, I'm also pointing out he is a very bad one at that. My opinion of the Xbox is the same as every other system if it has games I will play them...but I refuse to pay for online.
[QUOTE="stereointegrity"]i dont get number 3...they only took away one feature that wasnt used by even 1/8th of the ps ownersAnjunaddictWell theyve gradually removed other features too. I wanted a PS3 with the media card reader and full BC, but i left getting one too late and couldn't, and I don't buy preowned consoles.they never removed any other feature except linux
