go with a samsung LCD, they are not very good at making plasmas, also it depends where you play, if there is a lot of light then go with lcd but if youplay in your basement then go with plasma

it always has been LCD's but now the newer plasmas are starting to be even better

for gaming the biggest factor is the response time, and plasmas as far as i know dont even have a response time

just make sure if you get an LCD that its under 10ms

Plasma. Burn-in really isn't that big of an issue any more. Plasmas are the best there is to offer in the HD world.

Now that they make 1080p plasmas, IF you can afford them go for the plasma, slightly better but more expensive in my somewhat expert opinion

LCD. Plasma just has too high a probability of having burn in into the screen.

Well if you want around 50-61inches 1080p tv for around $1600 DLP is your answer. 30-47 720p-1080p from $700-1800 LCD. Either way i would make sure your insurance covers w/e the warranty doesn't cover like accidents and pets breaking them. Happened to me and now my $1600 on my Samsung lcd went down the drain.

LCD because it can be used just about anywhere even when the ambient light is high. And they consume about half the power of the same size Plasma. There was an artical on TV the other night and there was a meter placed on both TV's and the LCD used half the power and then there is a power saver feature on many LCD's that brings this down even more.

I say LCDs because they are cheap and look really good. To me, LCD and Plasma look about the same. Not much of a difference.

I'd only say plasma if you were getting a Pioneer, they make phenomenal plasma screens; but they're ultra expensive. So i'll say either LCD or CRT.

Yeah not to mention the lifespan is much shorter and the plasma is expensive to replace.

I have some really nice inductive meters here that one day I should check this out when the fridge is running. I did this on the PS3 while it was folding and you would be surprized at just how little power it consumes while folding.

i use a plasma. burn in isn't much of an issue anymore and plasmas have better viewing angles and are generally bigger.

The onlyadvantage LCD has is price and energy usage. The color reproduction and contrast on a good plasma will make most LCD's look washed out in comparison.

Plasma provides a much better picture. Darker blacks, more vivid colors, and faster response times all look better, even in lower resolutions. If you want the best picture go plasma.

Plasmas generally have better image quality and burn-in is literally almost non-existant so I vote plasma.

Plasmas have the best quality, and the newer plasmas have very little to no burn-ins and the burn-ins are not permanent.

Watch the video and read the review if you are not sure, either way LCD and Plasma are both great but i prefer Plasma.

I have a 65' DLP. It's freaking amazing. You can't get one at this size and a low price with LCD or plasma.

I did alot of research and asking when I bought my last gaming tv. I ended up getting a 50" lcd 1080p samsung 15000/1 ratio. It also has a gaming mode that speeds up the frame rate, so Im told. I think plasma and lcd are just a opinion which is better. The new lcd tvs look great alot whole lot better than the first gen. Do reasearch and make your chpice everyone has their own opinion. I love my tv looks great for games and bluray.

I have a 50" Philips plasma and LOVE it, but my only complains are that it makes a slight buzzing noise when there is a bright picture, and obviously the darn glare. But picture quality is WAY better than LCD IMO. DLP also have amazing picture quality, the blacks look sooooo good on DLP, but you gotta worry about changing the bulbs every few months (around $300)

EDIT: Unles you get one of those new Samsung LED DLP sets, they looks amazing, no bulbs!!
