Now that we've seen more info and footage...what are you're guys opinions?
IMO from what I've seen...Ratchet definitly has better graphics *duh*...but the level designs shown thus far looks un-inspired and mostly consisting of arenas for fire fights. Wheres the platforming Insomniac?
Mean while Mario can't compare to ratchet in terms of visuals *although it still looks great*....but the level design simply looks out there. There's definitely a bigger focus on platforming judging by the levels shown.

Galaxy is looking awesome, but I've missed out on Mario from Mario 64 to SMSunshine, so I've been so distant from the franchise I don't know any better.
Plus, I've never extensively played any Ratchet and Clank. All I know is what I've seen and what I've heard. From Sunshine, I think the Mario franchise took a nosedive, I didn't enjoy the first 30 minutes of M64 when I played it on an emulator this summer, Super Mario DS is Super Mario 64 Rehash. Ratchet and Clank: always looked interesting, always heard good things from the sidelines. I have a friend whose a Ratchet fanatic. I think Mario Galaxy will utterly demolish this thread from the looks of it (market positions indicate a slimming of Sony boys and a widening of Mario-ites)....but slightly unjustified.
Galaxy looks FAN-TASTIC. It will probably be the best of the best on the Wii for years to come in visuals, so that's not even a concern in my view. If you're looking at what will overall be an enjoyable experience when you look at them directly....of course Ratchet has beautiful visuals both technically and artistically and it has a huge amount of stuff going on in huge environments which is its own wonderful delight.
I've played the Ratchet demo btw and it was exxxxxcellent, but I wouldn't try to say it will encroach on Galaxy which looks to have oodles and oodles of rich and entertaining gameplay I'm completely unfamiliar with.
Ratchet has them damn weapons, though. And the enemy design, I think, leapfrogs Galaxy totally and absolutely.
[QUOTE="ragrdoll21"][QUOTE="SmashBrosLegend"]Mario, and it's not even close for me. I don't like the Ratchet series one bit.Ajam666...guess you don't like good games. To each his own. same could be said about cows and halo 3
Personally, I don't see the hype to Halo 3. It utterly confuses me. I'm being serious. Sorry.
On appearances alone, it has nothing on Resistance, UT3, or Orange Box. That's all I have to say.
Of course Mario is gonna win, he's the king of plat. But Mario Galaxy looks way more interesting to me, especially the weird gravity physics.

well of course. Like many have said Ratchet is simply more combat focused. Meanwhile Mario galaxy is more focused on platforming at it's core. That's basically the main reason why I prefer mario galaxy IMO. True platformers are rare now days.To be honest, I would not be surprised if both manage to get AAA (9.0) here. They both look great.
Personally, I'd much rather play SMG. I'm a big Mario fan, and think this will be the true successor to SM64.
if anyone is interested, in sw bets you can join this group bet
Super Mario Galaxy AAA versus AA Group Bet (4)Super Mario Galaxy: AAA:Kruesader, Hadoken_Kid, dackchaar, MoldOnHold If AAA wins, AA team has to create a new thread in SW stating why SMG is so great. If AA wins, AAA teams creates thread stating why SMG sucks. each member of the losing team writes a post in the created thread. And winning team gets to write posts in the thread bragging why theyre right. Thread should be created by KCPP2B (just so its started by the bookie, he wont make any remarks either way, he can introduce the bet if he wants) and have a specific name, then the team members will make their post on the game. just post in the thread and let me know what team you want to go on
