It's not likely parity. When they originally discussed the enhancement, they said they had the game running at 4K between 30-40fps. When they announced 60fps, my first thought was that they dropped the resolution. Now they're back at 30fps, most likely because they want that 4K resolution. Nah, I think they could do better but it would be like if Halo 5 ran at 30 fps on X1 and then 343 made it run 60 fps on X1X. That wouldn't be a fair online MP Fight. They need to consider that in any online MP PvP games me thinks. Just sayin. :P

It's nothing to do with parity, it's just not very well optimised or suited for a crappy console CPU in its current state. Most people still run the game on super low settings to maintain 60+fps. Will the One X version have 100 players too?

@SecretPolice: Not salty in the slightest. I really like the game and hope it does well for the One X. I was just pointing out that it runs poorly on PC so it'll almost certainly be worse on console.

And on parity, I didn't realise it was gonna be cross-console MP for Microsoft. If true, they're basically gimping their superior hardware, which is just stupid.

Creative Director on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Brendan Greene, has taken to Twitter to clarify that the game will run at 30 FPS on all Xbox One consoles at launch. Despite his previous statements, even the Xbox One X will output 30 FPS gameplay. Greene did confirm the team is "exploring options to increase FPS", but has nothing further to add at this time.

I guess the most powerful console ever created can't even come close to a gaming PC :(

Define a "gaming" PC and it's cost.

A $700-800 PC could easily push better fps than the XBX1.

But the point of PC gaming is that for a little more (like a $1500 build), you can get something that runs games at a stable 60 fps (even 144 fps) at max graphics settings and 4k.

Consoles are only good value when compared to budget PCs.

Why do people constantly claim that? There's NO PCin the world that can max out every game at native 4k, at 60fps.

I get that, but the thing is we know that the X1X version couldn't hit 60fps to begin with. So they're just capping it at 30. Maybe using the rest of the resources on stable image quality.

Sure, use the added powah for other things not fps related is fine and again, makes more sense when considering parity between X1 and X1X players but obviously 6 TF >>>>>>>>> 1.4 TF so there's much more they could do with this game on Mighty X1X MonsterBox.... Baby!!! :P

Well no shit Sherlock. I would hope a $700-800 PC would push better FPS then a $500 Xbox One X. WTF is wrong with you fanboys! Also no $1500 PC in the world is going to run max graphics at 4K at 60 or even 144 in every game. My god some of you fanboys say some of the dumbest shit I have ever read!

I honestly wished they would give us two modes in this game 30FPS@4K and 60FPS@whatever reso they need to run it at. I am sure they will not do this because they will want parity in this competition shooter.

LOL at least a sub par pc can still run it at 60fps lol. heck probably a chromebook could run it at 60fps if it could play this game.

Mr. Deflecto here signing out.

Seriously you fanboys really do say the stupidest shit I have ever read! No Chromebook is going to run this shit at 60FPS so STFU already!

What is it with developers for Xbox? “The Xbox one x will definitely be running at 60fps”

Less than a day later: “ugh I mean 30 fps”

The majority would use the 60fps mode imo. In that kind of game, you're more focused on the gameplay than the raw visuals.

No interest in this game anyway, so yeah...

Pretty much this. XboneX does great with so many games, that it really doesn't matter if this game has 'only' 30 fps. Does it run at low settings too or maxed at ultra?

Well, on one hand, it's stupid because it diminishes the value of the X1X, but on the other hand, the game will die if only a handful of people are playing it rather than combining all the players from the regular xbone and x1x.

1080p. This is before game optimization patch hits. Right now, I'm getting around 110 fps in most areas, but on the test server I was getting 140 fps with a 1080 gtx and 7700k at 2560 x 1080.

That PC is NOT going to play PUBG at 60fps, I can promise you that.

How many of you here have even played this game on PC? This is a very poorly optimized game. People with 1070/1080/it have trouble getting a stable 60fps, so that is certainly not going to cut it.

**** ultra or high. I play on low, man. Lol This game isn't optimised well enough to be played on high or ultra, also, it's much harder to see enemies.

Now, Escape from Tarkov I'm running on ultra at 2560 x 1080 at 75+ FPS. It runs great.

Absolute bullshit. I have an FX9590 and 980ti, and 60fps steady is a struggle. This is game is optimized like hot garbage. People with machines much stronger than me have issues getting 60fps constant.

You can easily get over 60fps, but you will NOT maintain it in this game, and this is widely known to anyone that has played the game. People running 1070/1080s and the latest i7s will frequently see dips to the 30-40fps range, and that is at 1080p. It is one of the biggest complaints right now. They can't even get the core game optimized properly, yet they are pushing this thing onto consoles.

Haha that's what I was trying to get at. It was either resolution or quality that's getting you those frames. I wanted to know to get an idea of what to expect, quality wise, from the Xbox One X version. Especially if it's aiming for 4K.

That PC is NOT going to play PUBG at 60fps, I can promise you that.

How many of you here have even played this game on PC? This is a very poorly optimized game. People with 1070/1080/it have trouble getting a stable 60fps, so that is certainly not going to cut it.

You must not have the game. It's not that hard to get 60 fps. Now, if you're trying to play on ultra, then yes, but that's a waste of resources, since the game looks like crap even on ultra. Might as well play on low-medium. But, this is mostly due to view distance it seems. You can crank everything else up, but you can't see anyone, then. It's much easier to spot enemies on low, which they should fix, but you're at a distinct disadvantage if you play on the higher settings.

That build up above is basically the same as my bud's, whom gets 75 fps on low settings at 1080p.

My friend has an AMD FX 8350 and a 970 GTX and he is getting over 75 fps in PUBG.

Lol, turn down your view distance. Thank me later.

@kingtito: Oh, but it absolutely is. I miss 2013 and 2014 when Microsoft had this amazingly accessible development environment that put the full power of its consoles in the hands of developers. PS4 was just a numbers queen.

What resolution?

1080p. This is before game optimization patch hits. Right now, I'm getting around 110 fps in most areas, but on the test server I was getting 140 fps with a 1080 gtx and 7700k at 2560 x 1080.

Ultra or high?

**** ultra or high. I play on low, man. Lol This game isn't optimised well enough to be played on high or ultra, also, it's much harder to see enemies.

Now, Escape from Tarkov I'm running on ultra at 2560 x 1080 at 75+ FPS. It runs great.

Haha that's what I was trying to get at. It was either resolution or quality that's getting you those frames. I wanted to know to get an idea of what to expect, quality wise, from the Xbox One X version. Especially if it's aiming for 4K.

Actually, I Just tested it with everything on ultra except view distance and it seems to run pretty well. 90 fps not on the test server. Still, though, not nearly as good as the 115 fps on low, also it's easier to see people.

This false narrative that the CPU is the bottleneck needs to stop. There are 1st gen i5’s that don’t bottleneck 1080Ti’s below 60fps at 1080p and 30fps at 4K. The GPU is the reason the X is running at 30. At first the dev stated it was running in the 40s on the X and 30 on the OG console. Why give certain players a FPS advantage? That’s why both are running at 30.

The console makers know what their doing with the balance. The CPU isn’t expensive anyway. RAM is where the cost is coming from, and Microsoft didn’t cheap out there.

Cant wait to snatch this up next week. Hopefully the game doesnt get hampered with all the cheats that PC players are facing. Plus will be nice to play on a platform and not worry about dealing with settings to give you a visual advantage.

@kingtito: It's not really a theory when one of the biggest pillars of XBox is ease of development. You guys have been hanging that sword rather high for three generations. I've been one to say that optimization in games is a real thing and that developers may or may not focus on a platform due to economic reasons. So, lookie what we have here? There's been a few games that have punctuated the notion that Scorpio is an afterthought for developers. This isn't the first.

...and you know, that would actually be okay in a sense. It just launched. There were a few games that were half-assed when the Pro launched. It's just that when that happened, the Lems also dogpiled on that without thinking that they would be on the receiving end of it... You know, because XBox games practically develop themselves and all that. Cool story.

I thought you'd say that. So let me ask, how does a game look a generation ahead on hardware that isn't? Can the PS3 make a game look as good as a PS4? Or a 360 game as good as an Xbox One game?

Also don't forget the countless posts, charts, and threads from Ron claiming the Xbox One X would be as powerful as a gtx 1070/1080.

*yawn* more of the "well you can't build a PC for the same price of X1X that will play it" rhetoric.

Good luck playing PUBG at all without an XBL subscription. Oh, now we're at $740 for the X1X instead of $500. It's powerful enough to keep for 4 years, amirite?

So ease of development is the same thing as being a gen ahead? Don't recall MS saying it was a gen ahead. Significantly more powerful but not a gen ahead. Isn't the X1X and Pro based on x86? Aren't they roughly the same as far as ease of development? Once again no one is saying the X1X is a gen ahead just that it's significantly more powerful which is true.

For a competitive game, I think I prefer a forced level playing field of locked 30fps rather than the varied framerates different PCs get, with the richest gamers getting the smoothest experience and an easier time of killing poorer gamers with lesser PCs. I'm quite uncomfortable with that.

Of course, best of both worlds would be locked 60fps on consoles, but we can't always get everything we want :D
