Do you really have to reply negatively in each and every thread relating to Sony and/or its consoles?how about no bootup screen? just go directly to the game, or say..directly to a menu.
nes, snes, genesis...ect all had the best bootup screeens/...they didn't have em, you put a game it, turned the power on and the game started none of this waiting crap.

[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]Do you really have to reply negatively in each and every thread relating to Sony and/or its consoles?IMO He'sspot on in this case. I love that my PS3 jumps straight into the menu after asecond or so load time. Bootup screens were pretty but the longer ones are sort of annoying. Another thing to remember about the games mentioned above is that there weren't any bootup screens because they weren't required. NES, SNES, Genesis all ran on carts so they could load instantly. No reading of discs and allocation of memory :)how about no bootup screen? just go directly to the game, or say..directly to a menu.

I personally love the Gamecube boot up screen,it was awesome to hear everytime. But out of those options,it's the Xbox for me.
It's a tie for me between the PS1 and Sega. The bass for the PS1 was just epic (would love to hear that in loud surround sound) but the crazy guy who screamed SEGA was equally epic.
that ps1 video brought back memories of christmas morning when i turn on the ps1 for the first time and played the pa pa the rapper demo and crash bandicoot 2 :D

No reading of discs and allocation of memory :) I think a lot of the newer consoles need the boot up screen. I think it is sorta like a PC, where everything is loading during the boot up. Just an opinion, but as more and more of these consoles get more PC centric, then it would make sense for them to take a little longer to boot up , with loading the operating system and all, vs the older consoles.[QUOTE="Locutus_Picard"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]
