Playstation 2 vs. Xbox 360

Xbox 360 by miles, it covers all the genres i love best, JRPG's and WRPG's with the best games

What does PS2 have like Star Ocean 4, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Lost Odyssey, Banjo 3, Alan Wake, KUF2: Dominon, Two Worlds Temptation, Divinity 2, Venetica, Black Legion, Final Fatnasty 13, Resident Evil 5, Overlord 2, Witcher, Gothic 4, Dragon Age etc etc ?

Let's not even touch the graphics, and the huge next gen in scale and detail worlds matters

I prefer the 360! PS2 had great games but it failed on FPSs, WRPGs and Racers....some of my favourite genres...PAL360

I loved the first 2 on PSX and Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2 but after playing Forza on xbox i became a big fan of that game....

PS2 is better because it has more action adventure and just more games period. Xbox 360 can get better but it needs more console like games. Yeah, it has a ton of WRPGs and shooters but those are best on the PC. Where's the platformers? Action adventures? Arcade type games? But the 360 is the best this gen that's for sure.AHUGECAT

It doesn't have a lot of action adventure games though, it has a few OK ones (like Ninja Gaiden) but nothing like God of War, Shadow of the Colossus or Uncharted.

How is 360 a shooter/WRPG console! As i posted before it has a bit of everything. A big list of Dead or Alive 4, PGR series, Forza series, Ace Combat 6, Ninja Gaiden 2, Red Alert 3, Halo Wars, Banjo, some JRPGs to name some exclusives! Im talking about variety here ;)

Why are we even compairing these two? Other than the fact that they both had crappy hardware, there is no comparison. 360 wins by default, with better graphics, better online, etc. It's not even fair.MortalDecay

since i started gaming back in the NES days, I cannot think of any other console which was better than the PS2 in terms of games... i know it boils down to personal preferences/tastes but seriously PS2 has the biggest library of amazing titles..

Ps2 had no WRPGs too, so it is far behind comparing to both xbox and xbox 360 to me

I was not arguing but you make the same replies in every thread I see you in and you get the same responses. I think we all get it you love XBOX 360 but you do it in a way that makes you seem like a blind fanboy. I am all for loving your console but when you have to defend by making what are clearly false statements than perhaps it's time to rethink your gameplan.Gaming_Guru_Guy

Well, i do love it far more than anything, because i am a RPG gamer, it is exactly the same reason i keep my PS3 too, for FF13vs and Demon Soul, and partly GOW3, Heavy Rain which i guess will be worth a buy

But PS3 has so little and so far between for me comparing, that is not exactly on my systems to praise list

now if that makes me a fanboy, yes, i love beeing a 360 fanboy, because it gives most of my gaming all those years, why wouldn't i be one ?

I also own a Wii, now that was my biggest mistake ever, at least PS3 has many times more games i am looking for in future than the next Zelda i keep Wii for

Why isn't it valid? The PS2 is still producing AAA games and is selling enough that it's hit 50 million consoles now. The PS2 is holding its own in this generation, and there are still many reasons to buy one now if you haven't gotten one already.

No doubt about it.

But there's a younger generation of gamers that started with the current gen, and for them, last gen graphics and games felt old, so the comparison could be a little biased.

Not for me, heck, i'm still playing psx and ps2 games, but still its no valid for everyone.

Then get a PC. It has the most RPG's anyway. 360 has nothing compared to the PC. The PC has over 75 WRPG unlike the 360 and PS3.

PS2 is much better PS2 had 1000 amazing games over 68 AAAE and 360 dosen't even come close.

Okay, the key problem with your arguement is your basing it all on your own personally preference. That's all fine and dandy when you're talking about your own opinion of which you prefer, but in these type of arguements, that doesn't fly.

A) The PS2 has more critcally acclaimed exclusives and multiplats

B) The PS2 outshines the 360 in most genres (with the exception WRPGS and Shooters as I've originally stated)

C) You're basing your arguements on unproven titles that could just as easily flop

D) All you've done is listed RPG's (Oh and Viva Pinata and Banjo pwn the PS2 too :lol: )

Now I'm not saying you're wrong to prefer the 360 lineup over the PS2, but trying to claim it's miles better is only setting yourself up for failure.

Anyways to the Point PS2 > Any Console and I never had one! But I know its the most successful console ever made and it has almost 10 year old game library filled with any genre. I actually bought a gamecube and then latter found a used xbox cheap.
