Playstation 3 has all the major FPS now

With Halo 3 being the effective end of the series it really looks like Sony is taking over the FPS genre.

3 months ago I would have bashed Haze, but it really has come along way since they focusd on one platform's technology. But what is more is that now Haze, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and even UT3 are all coming to the PS3 with exclusive slapped on em.

I realize that UT3 will only be for awhile...but the devs themselves are saying the PS3 version will be better (Mouse, Keyboard, user mods, download the entire game to PS3 HDD)

I really think PS3 is moving foward with a stronger selection of FPS titles and more inportantly everyone of these will most likely become trilogies and perhaps beyond.

Unless games like CoD4 look 2 times better on 360 I think they may have lost another genre (the first being RPG's)

2 Edits: Mass Effect could win back the RPG realm and IMO has a really good shot.

the second edit is that while this could mean PS3 will become the system for FPS maybe 360 will now focus on other areas which RPG's + Live = Vast Potential

Even if it's not called Halo 4, it's pretty much a given that if Halo 3 sells well the series will continue.

Aha... but they didn't say they were done making halo. They said this game would be the final piece in the trilogy and a conclusion to the story arch. They could begin a NEW story arc. Prequels, for example?

But i doubt they will. They didn't plan on making halo 3 after 2. They wanted to do a new game but felt they had to make halo 3 instead as it was unfair to keep fans waiting so long for the ending after halo 2's cliffhanger.

well i was watching a review and the guy from bungie said this might be the end of this trilogy but that doesnt mean there will never be another trilogy with a different battle

I am smart enough to know PS3 flopped in 2006 and most of 2007. The fact that Sony is just now starting to kick it into high gear only means now I have something to look foward too....how does that make me a "Cow"

Or Guerilla :lol: Simply put, dumping a multi-million dollar franchise on an inexperienced developer is too risky. Sure there is a 1 in 100 chance that the developer will do something fantastic, but more likely than not, they will make a sub-par game and tarnish the name of the series.

There will be more Halo and Masterchief. Maybe we will see prequels set years before the events of Halo 1 or years after Halo 3, but one thing for sure we will see Halo. It has established itself as a series that is here to stay. Whether you love it, like it, or hate it, it has pushed consoles and sold millions. It is the only game that has such a big influence on gamers. It would be stupid for any company to take a series that has made millions upon millions and just end it.

Masterchief is Nintendo's Mario, Sony's MGS. We will see more Halo, I guarantee it.

And also, you seem to forget Microsoft's system is basically FPS.
