Playstation 3 has all the major FPS now

With Halo 3 being the effective end of the series it really looks like Sony is taking over the FPS genre.

3 months ago I would have bashed Haze, but it really has come along way since they focusd on one platform's technology. But what is more is that now Haze, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and even UT3 are all coming to the PS3 with exclusive slapped on em.

I realize that UT3 will only be for awhile...but the devs themselves are saying the PS3 version will be better (Mouse, Keyboard, user mods, download the entire game to PS3 HDD)

I really think PS3 is moving foward with a stronger selection of FPS titles and more inportantly everyone of these will most likely become trilogies and perhaps beyond.

Unless games like CoD4 look 2 times better on 360 I think they may have lost another genre (the first being RPG's)

I'm sorta with you on this. Those FPS' are all going to be awesome.

One thing you lose me on is "take RPGs back". When did Xbox ever have the RPG market? Maybe WRPG's because of Oblivion/Fable, but PS is definitely the RPG king, and always has been. FPS is the only genre you could ever have said that Xbox dominated.

If Microsoft has as much faith in Bungie's next project as they do Halo, than I don't see why not.

Crysis isn't big? Only Xbox and ps3 counts? PC is in a league of its own? PS3 can't compete?

Halo 3 will be amazing but it's one game vs a couple different series. All that have the potential to outscore it.

I'm saying this...Xbox has a fantastic chance to shift all their momentum to another genre and gobble it up. They currently dominate Racing and have a healthy lead in Sports. Pushing harder in RPG's and perhaps flight games could give them a balanced edge against the FPS and RPG genre Sony has.

As for platformers, it's a toss up. I have seen sony is going all out with Rachet, Uncharted, and Heavenly Sword. Bt Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and a few others could really help 360.

Saying "well PC has this!!" when you are trying to defend PS3 or 360 does little to help your cause.

Sorry but the superior version will be PC one, u get the gimped version running at 30fps..-wii60-

first off, we are not trying to defend anything, Haze and Killzone 2 still have a high chance of flopping, UT3 is multiplat (and rather a PC franchise) ... you didnt get Bioshock, you never get Halo 3 , you had a poor version of Rainbow Six Vegas ... tell me ... just because your system is getting a few extra FPS I.P's all of a sudden what makes you think they will be top quality to even mark high-ground for the PS3 besides Killzone 2's overmarketing?

You dont have Crysis, you dont have Far Cry, you dont have Stalkers or Battlefields , or even Half the Half-Life full mod games.

PS2 had Red Faction / timeplsitters and 1 or 2 other FPS franchises ... that didnt make it the FPS console of choice now did it?

And anyway, since when is Halo the only FPS series on the 360 ?

I would just like to say that everybody on this site has the potential to be a future damn good gameanalyst or critic... Anyways, the theories are wrong... PS3 dsnt own FPS or anything else... forget last gen and console etiquetting (Sony=Good RPGs... and so on). Every console has potential and just coz halo 3 will end the trilogy dsnt mean that Bungie or anybody else won't come and take over it's reign (that will be in a good number of years if Halo 3 lives up to hype).
