PlayStation 3 selling slower than original Xbox

not really. the videogames industry has been putting up record sales numbers. people in the U.S. just arent as interested in the ps3 as the 360 or Wii

also, saying that sales dont matter is very selfish. yeah, they dont matter to you directly, but your hobby is only present because these companies SELL enough to stay in business and prosper, therefore keeping your hobby alive.

why dont you go ask Sega if sales matter....

ps3 sold more in the same time span as 360. yea the 360s lead has grown but you're talking about sales over a certain period of time and sony is beating 360 in that area.

this article is in regards to U.S. sales numbers, not world-wide.

NA is the biggest region, so yeah thats not good news, but I know they can always comeback next gen stronger like what the other two consoles did.

Erm no it's not Europe is.

There are more Ds's In Europe than the US. There are more Ps1's in Europe than the Us, There are more Ps2's in Europe than the Us, More SNES's sold in Europe than the US, There are more PSP's in Europe than the US. More Gmaecubes sold in Europe than the US and more N64's sold in Europe than the US.

If Europe was no divided into lots of small countries I think that it would be aparent to everyone it is the largest region in terms of gaming. Both console and Pc.

I mean the origonal x-box sold 24 million and the PS3 is currently on 23 so worldwide it's selling at a faster rate.

I would be very suprised if it didn't sell 1 million units worldwide in the next 6 months especially considering the Christams rush is still to happen and the potential price drop which would sellmany manyunits.

I'm still dissapointed at the guy who thought NA was the largest region in terms of game sales, he should do his homework. Historically all systems sell better in the Eu except Sega systems and the origonal X-box (I'm not going to count the current x-box as its possible it could undergo a upswing in Eu sales and sell more than the US)

Yep Playstation 3 is way overpriced. I think people who bought it got ripped off especially when you can almost play the exact same games on 360 for 199.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Simple math would show him to be wrong. 360 outsells the PS3 in the US, the PS3 outsells the 360 by roughly the same amount in Japan. The 360's lead has slowly grown over time. If they cancel out each others sales leads in Japan and NA, then it is impossible for the PS3 to be killing the 360 and falling farther behind. Not only will he have no link to support his claim, he has no mathmatical probability nor logical conclusion that would support his statement. The fact of the matter is that Japan is saving the PS3 from getting killed worldwide.Steppy_76
