Playstation audience are younger, while Xbone are older?

One can have a civil conversation about video games, but not an intellectual conversation, intellectual conversation about video game is just silly. That's why I see lemmings as older people betwen the age 35-50 - they're just too serious.

We can talk constructively about video games, features, the console, hardware, and other stuff. If you don't add anything constructive to the discussion about the hobby, and you decide to flame and troll people who are trying to discuss with you, then we are not having a smart discussion.

Some people can be serious and still not add anything constructive or talk about it in an intelligent manner. If you don't add anything new or say anything important, then we aren't having an intelligent discussion.

I believe you can have an intelligent discussion in almost everything, too bad you don't see it that way because you are stupid.

The problem with your entire argument is that you associate the attitude and actions of a group solely on age. On this, you have made a short-sighted evaluation (maybe because you are young yourself?)

Never the less, the playstation fanbase especially on this site tends to be filled with a majority of adult members. In the same way I could say that xbox fans on here are mostly adults. So when talking about debating "attitudes" (serious vs non-serious) you may need to look into other factors to draw your conclusion as to why one groups is aggressive and serous (lemmings) while the other group is more chill (cows)

TC, you may not have been around or seen the thread but there was a pic thread on SW a while ago where almost everyone posted a picture of themselves to show who they were...

On this thread almost all the vocal active members did actually post pics of themselves and probably only 2 or 3 of them were in the younger age range from dozens of dozens of users from xbox and playstation.

almost all users were adults even the ones you categorize as being chill silly....Heil86? you know the Live love learn the sony way guy? Yeah, he has a nice house, a nice game collection (xbox among them) and is very much an adult

So the fact that you are basing your argument off attitudes and arguments from fanbase groups here on SW means that the idea that age is the reason for the differences among the groups is not possible.

Yeah, i got all my statistics from observing and studying comments on every gaming site, it took my an entire summer to gather as much info as possible from that job and reading every post from every site that lemming posted. In my original post, I did say "I think" and asked for system wars thoughts on the age of Playstation gamers and Xbox gamers.

Lems in my experience are usually dudebros, age 25-30ish average, typically guidos who go to the gym and pride themselves on their physique, usually have names like "Doyouliftbro", brag about their car online, brag about how much they make, typically play CoD alot and use this as a yardstick of being "alpha."

Cows typically 18-25ish, either Japanophiles or anime lovers, with names like "XxCloudxX" or "Rabid Otaku" and usually play games like Catherine or Ni No Kuni.

I've found the above to be fairly accurate stereotype of the different factions in SW.

My dad & uncle always have a stick up there butt. They play video games too. Long ago, before i own a superior Ps3, I remember playing L4D2 on the X360 with my uncle. He would yell at me and call me a griefer, then vote kick me from match.

Well, when a person gets older, they have to think about others more.

A 40 year old guy wouldn't typically buy a system just for himself, he would buy whatever is good for the whole family.

Meaning maybe Kinect for the kids, daughter, wife, etc, workout games, dancing games, TV features for watching the game, easily switching between CoD, football, Zumba, etc.

It's pretty clear-cut that the Xbox One has been created for a more mature audience, it's pretty much a "family console."

It's not something a 20 year old single guy would purchase for himself.

A 20 year old single guy would primarily game on PC.or Playstation (Playstation more if he was the Japanime type, PC more if he was tech/nerdy type.)

That actually makes sense. This must explain why the old folks that I encounter all want an Xbone, and why young people like myself wants the superior Playstation 4.

From my experience PlayStation has the more mature experience, I find less annoying and mature gamers on PSN. Xbox has mature gamers but I found more of a younger group on Xbox, albeit more obnoxious.

I still prefer Xbox over PlayStation, I feel like the competition is better.

This. Playstation owners tend to be slightly older and/or mature than the XB audience from my experience with online gaming on both fomats, LIVE is crawling with foul mouthed obnoxious kids and teenage brats that need their ass' kicking whereas gaming on PSN i never experienced any of that or atleast VERY rarely.

I fear this upcoming gen alot of those brats and kids will be migratin to the ps4 though and will set about ruining the online experience completely but i guess only time will tell.

From my experience Cows are usually whiny 14 year olds, spoilt little brats who just started gaming, not to bright and are proud to troll others on internet forums .

Superior? I don't think so. Xb1 = most awards for best exclusive games E3, more features and superior online. So there we have it; better games, more features and best online vs a little more power and a ton of indie games. The choice is clear Xb1 offers more.

There are obnoxious mouthpieces on both platforms XBL just has a little more because MS has included a mic with every system. I own all systems and have spent quite a bit of time with both services. One thing worth mentioning though, XBL has far better tools in place for dealing with these kinds of people vs PSN.

Fail thread, it's pretty much a known fact all the little kiddies go play Call of Duty, HALO, Gears on XBOX Live. You hear them on the mics constantly. No doubt it will be the same this generation. They'll go crying to their mommies asking them to buy them an XBone for $100 dollars more than the competition, not knowing it's an inferior piece of shit. Probably more kiddies playing Xbox Live than there are kids playing Wii. That just the way XBOX is, it attract young inferior mindsets.

In general PS brand has older gamers, but with the PS4 being more popular I expect that to change or at the least the brand demographics to get a bit more age diverse.

I don't think one console grabs more of an age bracket than the other. I know some 30/40 year old who game on PS, and my closest buds in that age range all game on Xbox. Its just a preference thing, not a age thing.

The Playstation audience tends to be a little bit older than their competitors. If I am not incorrect I believe last generation the average Wii gamer was 13, while the average 360 gamer was 16 and average PS3 gamer was 20.
