Both PSN+ and Xbox LIVE pale in comparison to PC online but between those two I'd take PSN+ plus over Xbox LIVE. I'd rather have a bunch of free games for a small fee than having party chat and better download speeds.

everything is a rental service, so I fail to see why lems use that as ownage. The good thing about this rental service s that you make your money back within the first 2 or 3 months and you get 9-10 extra months of goodness.

Less rent the ability to play online even tho the bought the game and the console and are also paying for an internet service. I would understand if M$ wanted to charge for cross game chat and stuff, but charging you to play something you already bought is just wrong.

PSN+ is an awesome deal you basically can get your money back in like 5 minutes, Live is a lousy deal.

Cows need to learn the differance between FREE, and Rental. PS+ is essentially digital gamefly. Free would be like last year when Valve gave Portal away for free on steam. No payment required. Paying subscription fee for games =/= free games

At least they give you incentive to keep on paying for the subscription with could storage, early betas, time trials, free dynamic themes, free avatars, free themes, etc, etc, etc. You legit make up all yo moola the instant you sign up for it mayne.

In my (honest) opinion, anyone who pays for Xbox Live doesn't value his/her money.

And no, Live Gold isn't a rental service, it is a rip off. In PC, Sony and Nintendo consoles you can play online for free.

paying to get something free...

You know, although I want to argue with your comment, I wont. Instead I will agree with you and tell you how your negative intended comment is actually can be flip into a positive one.

Ok here we go.

I agree with you, its not free. If you are paying its not free. BUT when you consider all the things you get, your $50 a year actually get you hundred of goodies. This year alone, I have gotten more that 15-20 games. Most of those games cost $10+, some of them $30+. Without PSN plus, i probably would of never played them cuz I wouldnt want to pay for all those games, but if I did want to pay for all those games, then I would had to pay anywhere from $150-$300 or even more.

The point is, your few dollars ($50) get you 300%-600%. Its not like you pay $50 and all you get is $50 worth of stuff and thats it (100%).

You right, not free, but way worth it (if you are an active gamer of course). Rental service? Sure it is, just like LIVE, you phone service, you internet service, you cable service, water service, car insurance, etc. For any of these things, you just dont pay one month for it and its still available to you for ever.

Sadly no. But, I believe if gamers didn't paid for Xbox Live back when Microsoft started getting into console business they wouldn't be charging for online.

As far as I know M$ tried to charge PC gamers for play games using GFWL online but it didn't work. Same could have happened on consoles.

I didnt bash him btw.

I just assumed that it was a negative toward PSN+ cuz SW likes to bash PSN+. I was wrong for assuming that it was a negative comment, just like its wrong of you to assume I was bashing him cuz he doesnt support SONY. He doesnt have to support SONY, as long as he is rational about it than its fine.

But everything else I wrote still stands.

This. As soon as you stop paying for PS+ you can't play those "free" games.

So LIVE is just a rental service for half of every game with online?

PS+ almost makes PSN similar to steam in terms of prices.

It's a rental service.

lx_theo

This. As soon as you stop paying for PS+ you can't play those "free" games.

So LIVE is just a rental service for half of every game with online?

It is. I don't think the most hardcore lem will deny it. Why do cows deny that PSN+ is?

I have never gotten any sales or deals from xbox live except for a day when you could get 2 years +1600 M$ points for $80 which is redundant anyways.

not true. If you hit the triangle button on a game and go to information , it shows you how many days you have until it expires. But some games don't have an experation date , meaning you keep those forever

I had seen those comparisions before in system wars. Finaly being able to use PS+, its not even closely related at all.

PS+ is basicly paying a fee to get Free games and exclusive access to bonuses ( i got 10 games for twelve pounds, thats crazy!!)

tonitorsi

Cows need to learn the differance between FREE, and Rental. PS+ is essentially digital gamefly. Free would be like last year when Valve gave Portal away for free on steam. No payment required. Paying subscription fee for games =/= free games

At least they give you incentive to keep on paying for the subscription with could storage, early betas, time trials, free dynamic themes, free avatars, free themes, etc, etc, etc. You legit make up all yo moola the instant you sign up for it mayne.

lol

PSN+ is a discount service, much like sams or Cotsco, were you buy games cheaper in most cases, and you get to play several games no extra charge, now if you don't pay once your membership is up,you can't play those extra games any more, but anything you buy with a discount will continue to work, all the themes, and extra you also get are your to keep. XBL is also a rental the only different is it doesn't give you games with no additional charges,or basically anything other than online play. And if you don't pay at the end of the subscription you can't play online any more.

PSN = Free XBL = rental.? PSN+ is a discount service much like cotsco or sams were you pay to get savings, now sure you will come and say lol paying for saving, most 360 and PS3 games on sams never cost $60 dollars,$57 $56,the DS3 controller for the PS3 it cost $43 on sams,on gamestop is $55.. Hell even the $50 dollar PSN card on sams cost $47 dollars, which mean you get $50 dollars worth for $47 dollars. Well PSN+ is like that, you get tons of discounts, and access to cool stuff,at no extra charge you get games, those games can be use as long as you pay,if you don't pay you don't play any more, but the ones bought with discounts will work.

they are both different things. live is you paying to use the online function on your system basicly. PS+ is you getting a club card that gives you lower discounts and some free stuff.
