psn is better then both cause its free... THERE! Also ps+ is optional and doesnt effect content on your game.... xbox live does thus no point arguing 'thats optional too' cause really...its not.campzor
Just because PSN is free doesn't mean plus is better. they're different. please don't mix them up. different stuff.
PS+ because you get something from it.
Espada12
you also get discounted, deal of the week from xbl. u get rubbish old games from psn plus.

So I guess Wii online > PSN.
no cause its structured better and lags far less AND its free... whereas wii online is just free..no cause its structured better and lags far less AND its free... whereas wii online is just free..campzor
PSN is constructed better than Xbox Live?

im saying its structured better then wii online... and regarding xbl... they are pretty much equal.[QUOTE="Espada12"]

Not all them are old or rubbish. and again they are given to you for free and you get some discounted.. so in that case psn+ > liveNot all them are old or rubbish. and again they are given to you for free and you get some discounted.. so in that case psn+ > liveDilrod

Seeing how your paying for live and for psn. Live gives you no games without an additional cost, psn+ does. So therefor being a psn+ member it gives you free games. Basic math says $0.00 = free. Your not taking into account that you already signed up for live and psn+ which is a seperate charge. So when comparing psn+ and live... psn+ > live as far as what you get for your money.you also get discounted, deal of the week from xbl. u get rubbish old games from psn plus.

Dilrod
Yes it does. Live offers several free games without any cost. PSN, on the other hand, does not. Now excuse me, I'll go pay for Xbox Live Gold in order to get free online and buy a disc in order to get a free game.

Besides the Doritos games, what free games have you gotten from live? I have had live for like 4 years and gotten very few free games. Yet been a psn+ member from only October and have gotten over 10 free games. Some old, some newer. Where in the world are you getting psn does not offer free games? Obviously your not a psn+ memeber.Pinball FX2, Aegis wings, worms 2, harms way, many more. PS+ offers old games. XBL offers 8 man party chat, cross party chat, voice messaging, video messaging, deal of the week, zune, last.fm. Dont see those on ps+. XBL has much more content.

PSN+ is a service that offers content. Content which you pay 50 dollars a year for. That's not free content. Games which you get through PSN+ are not free. You paid 50 dollars for them. Kinda like how cross game chat is not free. You pay 60 dollars.
i cannot agree more. pay for what you want to pay for it's none of my business. These threads should be instantly locked. This subject cannot possibly be more discussed than it already has.

Ironic that your saying live gives you free games.. when you just contradicted yourself. PSN is a service. Xboxlive is a service. Both are paid for. PSN+ gives you free games as a way of saying thanks for paying for those services. I have more than gotten my $50 worth of stuff (at no additional cost then what I paid for it, or live for that matter.) I have gotten very little if anything without an additional cost from live. Dont say espn or anything like that, because those are free on the computer yet need live to work on the xbox. Honestly, how hard is it for you to comprehend this?[QUOTE="Dilrod"]Besides the Doritos games, what free games have you gotten from live? They're not giving you the games as a way for thanking you, where are you getting this? The 'free games & downloads" is an actual advertised feature of PSN+.

Yes. Although I will say that PSN+ sounds far better on paper:
PSN+ - Online Gaming(which is actually free), Discounts, betas, games, demos etc, etcfor 50 quid.
XBL - Online Gaming, Deal of the Week and ehh....
No brainer really and I don't even own a Playstation
yet that same xbox live service that you just said gave "free" games. Your waffling more than Brett Favre.Dilrod
I said 'Live offers several free games without any cost.' By that I mean games like Aegis Wing, Crash Course, Harm's Way. Games that are actually free, without you having to pay for Xbox Live Gold or anything.

In fairness those games are fairly poor, except maybe Harms Way. But now you're talking about XBL Free when the discussion is about Gold and PSN+.

I realize that, but I was just using those as an example of what a free game actually is, compared to what Sony is advertising as a free game.
Playstation plus obv
dont make me pull out the list of crazy things it has given me in the past 6 months :D
mubi...vidzone...internet browser....catch up tv.... has its own psn special deals (which are probably weekly too...), im fairly certain u can do video talking.Pinball FX2, Aegis wings, worms 2, harms way, many more. Not that you would know as i dont think you have a ps3...but home offers heaps of free games..... for free..... without psn+....Not that you would know as i dont think you have a ps3...but home offers heaps of free games..... for free..... without psn+....campzor
I don't, but still good for Sony.

Those games are like a step above and in most cases a step below flash games.
there are games from newgrounds which have better games then xbl and psn..whats your point? They are there to be played and some people like those games (i am not one of them) I was just trying to get my point across as he mentioned bad games from xbl.[QUOTE="Dilrod"]

You're NOT getting free games. You paid for the service to be able to receive the games that you're renting. $60=/= free broHow is charging you $60/year for things that are free and/or that you've already paid for more value for the money? Sure, you get a lot for that $60 a year... facebook, twitter, last.fm, espn3 (as long as your isp provides it), netflix streaming (with a netflix subscription), playing games that you bought online... but you can already do all that without having to pay an extra $60 a year. That's like the opposite of value for your money, because they are charging you without actually giving you anything. Except cross-game chat.Xbox live gives you more value for money, but its something you shouldnt have to pay for anyway.

The whole argument is crap. Why? What if Sony just charges for EVERYTHING they offer for free right now and then add what plus has for $50. Its better. Live is better than Plus because you don't get online play for buying plus, its already there. Its an absolutely horrible argument because you discount what is already offered for free.
Xbox Live Gold. I can't stress out how great their deals are: Mass Effect 2 DLC for US$2,50, Super Meat Boy for US$10,00 instead of 15,00, discounted games that were released THIS year (Limbo, Lara Croft, Monday Night Combat)... that, and it has an overall better online integration, with a much more seamless connection between the people your playing with, you and your friends.
But what really decided my preference of XBL over PSN were their Arcade exclusives: Super Meat Boy, 'Splosion Man, Limbo, Monday Night Combat, A World of Keflings, ilomilo, the indie games and all other arcade exclusives I'm not mentioning.
We've had this debate a million times...let alone they aren't the same type of service so should not be compared.

It is optional, if nobody is forcing you to pay it. "It's not optional if you want to play the Multiplayer" the key word in that argument is "IF". I don't play MP all that much, so I don't have Gold. I never play MP on PSN either.
