people always say that ps+ isnt worth it because the free stuff is only free while you are a member. but so what. they only take away free games which are mostly small games i never have the need to play again once i beat them. they also dont take away the stuff i got a discount on which within the year will add up to more than $50 with map packs and games i buy off psn. so psn is better imo. but as its been said before time and time again they dont offer the same thing so it doesnt matterriver_rat3117What I want to know... is after your membership is over, will you still be able to keep trophies from the games you played while a member?

It doesn't matter if you bought the game used, rented the game, borrowed it, stole it, or whatever. Nor does it matter if you trade the game in, break it, lose it, delete it off your HDD or anything else. Why would you think you would lose trophies for stopping your psn+ subscription? The only way you'll ever lose trophies is if you get caught cheating or something and your account gets banned or something.
[QUOTE="campzor"]psn is better then both cause its free... THERE! Also ps+ is optional and doesnt effect content on your game.... xbox live does thus no point arguing 'thats optional too' cause really...its not.shahilsyed
Just because PSN is free doesn't mean plus is better. they're different. please don't mix them up. different stuff.
Agreed. Sometimes you get what you paid for. I have both ,but prefer my Xbox Live, and if games start charging subscription fees then I may switch over to the PSN, simply because I don't want to get hit twice to game online. I also think that all three will be charging in the near future.[QUOTE="shahilsyed"][QUOTE="campzor"]psn is better then both cause its free... THERE! You pay for the internt... you pay for the game... and then you have to pay again to be able to play your game on your internet.Lol @ people who try to compare a rewards system to an online play subscription.FIipModePS+ is a reward system? :|
But why would I compare a service that optional to pay for while the other is forced "Unless you don't want to play Online at all that is" PSN is superior for the reason that it's free. PSN+ is just a service they offer, if you feel it's worth the price of admision.Hi,
What is better? They both cost money so you can't say one of them is free. I like Xbox live is better. Whats your?

Still gotta go with psn. Holding a part of your game hostage with a service fee can never be successfully spun...not even with threads of silver and gold.TheMoreYouOwnExcept for the fact that its PS+ vs XBL...not regular PSN
I have Xbox Live Gold, I don't have PSN+, but I think thats why PSN+ is better, not because the product is better for $49.99 a year, though debateable, but because its an option that doesn't steal features like Xbox live.
Xbox live has a lot of features that they recently added such as ESPN, and now they charge more for these added features that I don't even want. If you want ESPN why can't you pay the extra $10 a month. While they take out basic features from Silver like Netflix, which I can use on PSN without paying $50 a year.

How about I don't mind paying twice, once for internet, and once for Xbox Live, but I'm not going to pay for a subscription fee.[QUOTE="godzillavskong"][QUOTE="shahilsyed"]

It's funny because a lot of Sony fanboys would scream how Playstation Network was better, simply because it is free, now with this PSN+, which charges, they are saying it's still better??I really think Sony put this PSN+ out there to see how it was recieved, and possibly use it as a model to eventually abandon free online all together, and charge like MS.Might not take effect in the next year or so, but I see them doing it in the future. I think all three will eventually charge for online, which sucks, but I think it is coming. Nintendo and Sony are watching MS get smothered in $$ of off Xbox Live, and I'm sure they would like to get a piece of that action.
i cannot agree more. pay for what you want to pay for it's none of my business.[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]

Yes. Although I will say that PSN+ sounds far better on paper:
PSN+ - Online Gaming(which is actually free), Discounts, betas, games, demos etc, etcfor 50 quid.
XBL - Online Gaming, Deal of the Week and ehh....
No brainer really and I don't even own a Playstation
wtf how can you own a 360 and not know 360 has betas games demos etc it has everything psn+ has and more wtf betas demos games? really you think 360 doesnt have that?
I know a large number of PS3 users would stop playing online if they starting charging for it. Myself included. I can't see them Taking that option. there's a difference between having a choice between all the discounts (that can pay for themselves if you buy a lot of those) or just online, to being forced to buy this possibly useless service (once again, depends) just so you can play online. Huge differenceIt's funny because a lot of Sony fanboys would scream how Playstation Network was better, simply because it is free, now with this PSN+, which charges, they are saying it's still better??I really think Sony put this PSN+ out there to see how it was recieved, and possibly use it as a model to eventually abandon free online all together, and charge like MS.Might not take effect in the next year or so, but I see them doing it in the future. PSN is better than Live Gold because it offers almost everything Live does, along with some extra stuff like Home, for free. PSN+ is not really comparable in any way to Gold. The only reason people are trying to compare them is they both have a subscription fee (with PSN+ being cheaper). Gold is a subscription to access Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, and online gaming (stuff that you already should get). PSN+ is more like a discount membership and content subscription. So yes, PSN is better than Gold because it's free, and PSN+, which charges, is also better than Gold because you are actually getting content for that fee, rather than getting access to content which you've already paid for. I went on it last week, saw some interesting stuff , like add-on content for God of War 3, but I had to be a PSN+ subscriber. Then I found a few other things I was interested in, but they were also limited to PSN+ subscribers. I think I've just become comfortable with Xbox Live Gold, and prefer that over PSN, even with some of it's perks. I've had a few bad experiences with it when I was trying to play MGS4 online, and really haven't given it a chance since. I'm sure it's got a lot better, but we all have our preferences I guess.[QUOTE="godzillavskong"]

How many times has this argument been brought up?!
On topic: I don't have a PS3 but paying for xbox live does suck cause i don't use any other features except to play online. So, the one with more benefits, I guess.

MGO doesn't go through the psn, that's why it was such a pain.

Oh,I was wondering why it had me going from the pc back to the PS3, and then back again. I just gave up on it after that. The only other PS3 title that I played online was MOtorstorm. It was ok.Please Log In to post.
