[QUOTE="Skittles_McGee"]If they're leading in sales, why would they need to change anything? Obviously whatever they're doing, it works.Nimmo___007
This is a fair point i am not even going there with the last childish effort.
I consider this year (2009)to be the year that Ps3 started to or make the biggest change in the gape on the market. Who knows what 2010 has to offer. As mentioned earlier Heavy Rain & GT5 look very impressive and i don't see Xbox making games of that standard with the lack of disc space etc. Also even in the review on Gamespot Uncharted 2 was one of the first games they played were they thought "i can not see xobx doing that".
As mentioned in a earlier thread Ps3 does have 5 times the disk space but when games come out cross platform Plastation owners get a raw deal so developers can fit games to xbox 9GB disks. I have read on here that some new games coming out for Xbox will need to be on additional disks? Sounds like the old Atari, commadore days to me.
I am not here to have a childish fight over the machines just want to here people ideas and view for the future.
PS3 started to close the sales gap this year especially with their latest price drop. However, it was shocking to them fall behind the 360 in the NPDs so quickly. What does that say?
The extra disc space seems to be a non-issue as multiplats are nearly indistinguishable nowadays where they were predominantly better on the 360 in the past.
Where the 360 excels and will continue to excel is in its promotion of community. Whether Sivler or Gold, MS has shown that they are clearly in line with online trends. Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM co-branding, the personnel and thought given to their whole online strategy... I believe these are what's driving 360 hardware sales, and retaing its current userbase.
The latest trends being digital distribution. MS starting to make its current gen library available for download. Not only does it have many titles already available and more released every week.....My conspiracy theory here is that this is a test bed for the next MS console. I see it being a major factor next time around.
In the meantime, Sony is stuck in an online mentality from 5 years ago. They take queues from Xbox Live on what features to implement, or are slow to react to what's going on in the online space.
