I heard SONY just cancelled a God of War live service game, so I'm hoping that's wrong....would explain what Bluepoint and Bend were doing though... uggh

I hope to see Bloodborne

The "state of play" is all the games Sony keeps cancelling.

Could it be the rumored God of War: Greek Saga Collection/Remastered show up in the State of Play Presentation 2025?🤞🏼

Can't wait for the sizzle reel of all of their cancelled live service games. lol

@Pedro: Sadly customers regularly have to imagine what gamplay would look like as we watch 10 minute CGI dribble from these "AAA" publishers.

Long for the day's of trailers ending with 'play the demo', but they're very rare.. almost myths in 2025.. Largely reserved for Indie developers.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the only one I know having this in 2025.

Then again to offer a demo the publisher has to be confident in the products quality. & Sony was confident in Concord so the quality control for PlayStation Studios is questionable. Heck Sony had little faith in Astro Bot...

Honestly to have me impressed all they'd have to do is port a top quality game that can't be played on current hardware. Like MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.

Slap that hitter on PS4/ PS5/ P.C. and watch the money flow in.

dream game warhawk. no skins just simple online game that comes with everything in the game. like ps3 days.

motorstorm on psvr2 would be awesome to. or even a new one would be great.

I would love another pain game aswell. it was for the ps3 and you launched a guy into the background see how much destruction you can create. funny shit right there.

I hope both Xboxs rumor of a Oblivion Remake and this is true. We already know Switch 2 will have a new Mario Kart which is awesome!

Good games for everyone please, that would be delightful.

Bloodbourne 2 and Persona 6 will be announced.

As well as the release dates for the The Winds Of Winter, Doors of Stone and The Thorn of Emberlain

Ubisoft will announce a game that is not terrible.

@SolidGame_basic: If you're excited for a new Death Stranding? well glad for you. I don't feel many are, it might be you and a small sum world-wide who cares. Gotta show something a little cooler than a cutscene heavy Paperboy game to get positive buzz..

Xbox showed off two Ninja Gaiden games. Sony gotta match that with a similar flex and they could really do with one after Concords embarrassing existence and how they handled Helldivers II in 2024.

Only positive about PlayStation in recent times is Astro Bot.

We know Blue Point and Media Molecule have been wasted on canceled Fortnite-like games so really the realistic alternative on the first party end is showing off Insomniacs Wolverine with gameplay. Or better yet, a different third party partner game.. which could be anything, heck PlayStation could be platform outside P.C. for The Wayward Realms which aims to be an Elder Scrolls alternative. Would give Avowed & the rumored Oblivion remake some competition.

Couldn't give ten shits honestly anyway about the State of Play timing. On the 14th the Wilds Beta is back up too so I also won't be around to watch whatever it is they show. I just hope for those waiting it's better than a Death Stranding 2.. I know Death Stranding has its niche fandom, but I don't feel that'll be very exciting to anyone outside a small minority.

PlayStation is looking like the sickly child of the platforms and they've got more to offer than that. Stop embarrassing yourselves Sony and offer the goods.

Factually not true. Not even within the span of a year.

Summer SoP 2024 showed for the first time: Marvel Rivals, Astro Bot and Soul Reaver 1&2 HD. All these games had tons of hype and buzz online. Topping sale charts/ player-count and winning multi-awards on release.

Only people who think that's "shite" don't play video games.

Still felt it needed to be stated, no matter how many L's PlayStation has taken of late, some of the SoP's have shown some great game reveals.

It sold five million for being a new Kojima game, and something new from the creator of Metal Gear Solid. One of the most beloved IPs in video games. It sold for the same reason Anthem also clocked five million relying on 'from the creators of Mass Effect'.

However I would argue a lot of people wasn't happy with the game itself. & a sequel isn't going to match those sales as a result because many who bought the first game know exactly what its follow-up is offering, and with the insane budgets that are put into Death Stranding and its marketing I'm not sure it'll make as much back as you believe.

So yeah I would call Death Stranding fans niche, are its sales? no. Yet I wouldn't imagine they made much money back off it with how much the game cost to make +marketing.

At the end of the day I don't want to say Death Stranding is at all like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, yet has a lot in common with Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Critics love both games, as do loyal fans of games past, general perception is both games are not living up to the creators reputation.

Wasn't Kojima making a Metal Gear Solid spiritual successor at somepoint, or is that the Xbox exclusive game?
