@hardwenzen: Well, I bought it. So far played RE Village, GT7, Walking Dead Saints n Sinners, Synthriders. Can't say any of that is cheap indie.

Even tho i despise village, if every game like it were ported to the vr headset, it would be worth owning if you're into these kind of experiences. But how many developers will bother? Sony themselves don't, let alone third party devs. How many more years do you think we'll go through until Sony has another GT7 level title ported to their vr?

The support for this thing will be $10-15 indie games. If that's enough for you, you won't be disappointed, but that shit was more expensive than the system its made for, so i'd expect more than some indie filler, personally.

There are about to be several more. Bulletstorm and RE4 Remake are both coming to PSVR 2. No Man's Sky is already there, and just got a dope update. The Horizon game is on there too, though I haven't played it. Also upcoming is the 7th Guest Remake, and the new Vampire Masquerade sequel, this one built from the ground up for VR. Then there's Phasmophobia and Madison. I don't know, dude, buncha stuff. PSVR 2 games don't get advertised very much, but there are many big ones upcoming.

Bulletstorm, the game from over 10 years ago? And if you were interested in RE4, you must've already completed it, so the vr experience is just you replaying the game.

Bulletstorm is dope. They're updating for VR, not just functionality but gameplay elements, though I don't know the extent. As for RE4R, yeah, heavily interested, but I held off playing it flatscreen because I wanted to experience it first in VR, which announced for PSVR2 a while back. I know it's incredible, regardless, and will be far better in VR.

But yeah, there are much more than just those two games. Point is, PSVR 2 got games, and good ones. Sony doesn't invest in marketing for VR, hardly, but that doesn't mean the games aren't there.

Holy shit bulletstorm would be amazing in VR. Energy lasso, guns and the trick shot system, remote-controlled dinosaur...I'm all for this adaptation.

@last_lap: That's the first world problem of having so many quality exclusives on your system. When an 85+ metacritic game released with no hype and half the fanbase thinks it'll be shite.

Personally I won't get it for PS5, I'll just wait a year or two for the superior PC version.

A consequence of being used to these 90-95+ metacritic GOTG contenders annually.

If it was a certain other fanbase they'd be celebrating Spiderman 2 as if it was GTA 6 xD

@last_lap: Isn't funny at all.

I'm not some dumb fanboy. I'm 100% neutral and one of the few on this forum that can play every single game (and at the best quality, no less). The Last of Us 2 is just vastly superior to anything else released the last 5 years, except perhaps Elden Ring, GOWR and Baldurs Gate 3 those are of similar level of quality. Elden Ring is in fact an even better game than TLOU2 (believe it or not, its actaully possible) not quite as good as TLOU1. But right up there.

Now if someone gave Elden Ring an 8/10, well that's an even bigger crime. Executed via electrical chair that is barely funcitioning. Remember the comparisons. Starfield getting 7 isn't even committing a crime, that's just a fair and legal activity in our analogy. Its arguably a 6/10 game getting a 7/10. Nothing wrong was done here.

TLOU2 and Elden Ring getting an 8, when they are the most obvious and undisputed 10/10s is a crime on par with molestation. Its sad to see how you support molesters.

So over the last week you have stated that i'm too dumb to read, having the reading comprehension of a toddler, have retarded posts all in this thread, and now you claim I support molesters.

Then you state that a reviewer on here should be executed for giving a game an 8.

WTF is wrong with you?

A show should always be scored by New and Want to play games.

2/10

Sony's first party going forward is looking barren...my ps5 has been turned on once in 2 months and that was for a update 3 weeks ago,i have a few third party games like jedi survivor and dead island 2 that i'll get for the system just to stop it seizing up even though they run better on my X

You're only strengthening my point. As in Sony paid 3 billion to continue to put Bungie's live service games on Xbox, and MS paid 7 billion and is getting single player games exclusively not on Sony's console. Xbox gamers win that one.

Oh and don't act like exclusives are bad now that Sony is getting its own medicine back.

Well, that was a mega flop. Someone at Sony needs to be fired for this shit. And only one first party developed game for our PS5 in all of 2023. Disgusting.

This thing is getting panned on social media. Even the PS Blog comments are pure toxicity after the show.

While that may be the case, Starfield will NEVER have the social footprint that Destiny had, just on the name alone. Not say that Starfield is a bad game, but it’s definitely not or going to live up to what most people was expecting.

The two games I am interested in from the show, I am already hyped for. Showing me more Spiderman 2 and FF7 Rebirth at this point, isn't going to build my hype anymore. I would have rather heard what was coming after Spiderman from people besides Square. I know it wasn't the intent of the show, but this show was a waste of time for me personally. I want to see the future of the Playstation 5. Show me GoT 2, a new Naughty Dog game, or what any of the other studios are working on outside of Insomniac. It feels like Insomniac and Square are carrying the PS brand right now.

Sony is shifting its business model. You guys need to question Sony over this. Sony is going crazy raising prices for EVERYTHING, and you guys are letting it slide and some are even defending them. If Sony starts getting its devs to make live service games they will turn into like what Rare has done, no major release in 5yrs with none on the horizon, and just servicing its live service game.

Rare is a terrible example because they aren't a very high functioning team. PlayStation Studios teams are creating GOTY caliber games that sell 10-20M+ units.

PlayStation devs are more likely to look like Respawn, imo. They'll have a live service game like an Apex but, also have single player games like a Star Wars Jedi.

Yeah, SONY hasn't shown anything in a long time... it's actually getting pretty frustrating at this point. It's literally like they want to save everything for the mid gen refresh. I'm sure by then some games will be getting close.... they really can't not be...

And imagine that their mid gen refresh is like 3 out of the 5 GaaS titles that all come out in the same year.

Rare used to make games and release them on a regular basis, then they made Sea of Thieves a live service game and has done nothing since its release (except for the indie type Battletoads game) in 5yrs which is my point. Once a dev starts with the live service crap their efficiency goes out the window.

Now just back in March this year Sony stated 12 live service games were in production.

So, who is making these 12 games? well Sony bought 3 devs to focus on live service I believe, and Guerrilla games has stated its working on a MP Horizon game, so where are the other 8 coming from?

Making live service games hampers production on new games. So, it only makes sense that Sony SP game output is going to suffer. As Sony has stated money for games is likely to be a 60/40 split on favour of live service games by 2025.

You guys act like Sony haven’t been releasing at least 1 AAA game a year for the ps5 since its launch. That’s probably why most Sony fans aren’t worried about the barebones release of “1st party exclusives“ this year. You also act like Sony are the only ones adopting live service games.

These are the reasons why I can’t take naysayers seriously.

Well, that was a mega flop. Someone at Sony needs to be fired for this shit. And only one first party developed game for our PS5 in all of 2023. Disgusting.

This thing is getting panned on social media. Even the PS Blog comments are pure toxicity after the show.

I didn’t watch the show so I wouldn’t know but after seeing what kind of impact Starfield had, Sony probably thought that it can just coast through the year with little to no worries for it’s main competitor.

So same MO. PS has no games.

Aside from the loads of amazing games they already released and Spider-Man 2.

You anti-Sony fanboys are hilarious.

@last_lap:

Rare was making Kinect shovelware. Again, they weren't functioning at a high level. Sea of Thieves is by far their most successful game in recent memory so it makes total sense to focus on what they can do best.

How do they make 12 live service games? With multiplayer teams like Firewalk, Haven, and Bungie, expanding existing studios like FireSprite, and Naughty Dog, and then partnering with external teams to work on PlayStation owned IP like Arrowhead.

The investment numbers also don't really tell the whole story because it costs lots of money to grow net new teams, and expanding teams. There's a ton of new money to be spent on tech, tools, and upkeep as well.

@Nonstop-Madness: Just one problem all these 12 live service games are due to be out by the end of 2025. If you think 4 devs can make 1 live service game per year and maintain them then you're mistaken.

Sony has only announced live service games coming next year so far. Sure Sony is working on SP games, but at this rate they're years away as nothing has been announced for a 2024 release except for some live service stuff.

@ermacness: You claim I'm acting in a certain manner when Sony's release schedule for next year (so far announced) is live service stuff like Bungie's Marathon.

And Sony didn't announce anything new (first party) for its recent show, so maybe no new announcements until next year, and the chances of announcing something new and releasing it in the same year is slim.

But hey put your head in the sand and yell naysayer all you want. But name me 1 Sony game that isn't a live service game releasing next year?

Has Sony officially announced that yet?

A quick Google search it says some guy named jeff Grubb suggested it was coming Fall 2024. Nothing from Sony themselves. I hope it does release in 2024 otherwise you're going to be stuck with live service crap.

Cool. So, what's more interesting than posting in a thread about Sony's State of Play?

Playing Starfield 👩‍🚀🚀🪐✨💫

Not on PlayStation!

And I bet you that it hurt you more to type that than the “cows” who can’t play the game.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

HURT?

i get huge pleasure from playing Starfield and enjoyment out of watching cows trying to damage control it because they cant play it.

So i'll match your 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and raise it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

There’s nothing to “damage control“ aside the FACT that it flopped here, and received similar reviews elsewhere. If anyone here is damage controlling, it’s YOU.

🤣🤣🤣

Bu,bu,bu but..

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can’t because Sony haven’t released their full release schedule for next year, however I can tell you what Sony HAD released thus far.

I would love a nice list of the games I must have missed developed by Sony for our PS5 this year so far. I am not anti-Sony. I am anti-cow/lem. Pro manticore.

After the copy paste job that was Nioh 2 and the shitty Wo Long, i wouldn't be too excited for the next game from Team Ninja. They're literally the worst developer when it comes to level design.

@uitravioience: We're talking first party here. As we know everyone has third party stuff.
