Playstation Vita will NOT have full backwards compatibility day 1

Some notible ones missing include "Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker", "Patapon", "Rock Band Unplugged", "Littlebigplanet", "Killzone Liberation", and "Pac-Man championship edition"

At least I'm getting 5 Vita games with my system. My old PSP titles can sit on the backburner for awhile.

Damn, sucks for the people who bought their PSP games on UMD from a store ie. most PSP owners.

WTF are they thinking? Especially as in Japan you can transfer a UMD game to the Vita.

ive heard different reports from neogaf...that ppl have downloaded games from the ps3 store and transferred them to the vita and some games have worked.. im sure it'll get ironed out soon... i mean it doesnt launch for like 2 weeks.campzor

What is wrong with people like you? It's called CONVENIENCE...you know, so if I feel like playing a game that I know a device can actually play I don't have to carry that device's predecessor for not good reason. In other words I'd rather carry my Vita knowing it can play PSP games than carry both a Vita AND a PSP.

You sure about this one? i remeber it was demoed on one of streams while Japan relese and it worked :> Hmmmm.... thats kind odd, maybe they find some bug, or they QA test all titles before it will be let to run on Vita

Jesus. First there was Nintendo that pretty much launched the 3DS with... well, none of the promised features (that were all patched in as recently as THREE MONTHS AGO). Now Sony is launching the Vita with a half assed browser, no PSOne compatibility and partial support for PSP and Minis? I mean, is it just me, or does anyone else believe that gaming platforms, at least, should be complete at launch?charizard1605

Actually finding out the Vita won't play PSOne classics (yet) was what ticked me off.

Though it isn't the reason I'm getting it, I still wanna play some Parasite Eve and maybe Vagrant Story.

I must admit it has surprised me how little marketing there is with the console just weeks away. It's had some very positive reviews in UK magazines like T3 and Stuff, but Sony don't seem to be capitalising on it. I myself am very tempted, but I can't say any of the information I have about the device came from Sony.

As for backwards compatability... doesn't bother me that much.

Do you have a link for this? For the Vita playing PS One games at some point? I really hope it will be able to, but what if there won't be any support for PSOne ****cs?

I want Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts.

Killzone and LBP are the ones they gave away for free for being hacked... Glad I'm not buying Vita any time soon... If Sony keeps up with dumb choices I won't buy it at all.Truth_Hurts_U
