playstation3 games vs WII games (poll)

which system has the better line-up? yes mario was gamestop's GOTY. but other then mario galaxy, zelda TP, and metroid prime 3, nintendo has a game collection that ranges from barely average to the worst games of all time. yes zach and wiki was a nice surprise (my fav. game on the system) but nobody bought it according to sales and the press. resident evil 4 is old and is a port. and you could argue the VC but im talking games made for the system itself.

its no contest here. i think the playstation 3 smokes it. if you put the games side by side it really shows the difference,

mario vs ratchet is close

zelda vs oblivion is close

after that....not so close

metroid vs orange box, red steel vs resistance, madden vs madden, paper mario vs uncharted, excite truck vs motorstorm...........and for ever average release the wii gets like trauma center or cooking mama the PS3 gets a warhawk, heavenly sword, FI, or a ghost recon. and 2008 is gonna really be a time where the PS3 seperates its games from the Wii. anyone whoo dissagrees needs an evening of electrshock.

Mario and Ratchet aren't close at all imo. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 and Fire Emblem deserve a mention.

Overall, I'd say the Wii's library is better and more appealing because of its exclusives.

i kind of agree here. nintendo will have 3 must own titles a year, and one of those is usually a GOTY quality title. most sony exclusives will games like uncharted or ratchet that are very good but not quite system sellers. . but the PS3 will always get the big games from the 3rd parties like GTA4, MGS4, rainbow six, and so on. the wii will get things like ghost squad to walmart exclusive games that retail for 14.99.

Multiplats = ps3 (by a landslide)

Exclusives = Wii (slightly)

Overall = PS3 (clearly)

you also have to consider....lets say that motorstorm is not your cup of tea. then get sega rally or dirt. dont like madden, get NCAA or AP football. you always have more choices on the PS3. usually your alt. choice on the wii ends up being backyard football or monster truck racing!!!! and would you rather want carbon and marvel UA os PS3 or wii. the PS3 version is always better.prodiqy32

Well that all comes down to the gamer. Although choice is appeciated I knew with my gamcube and Wii that I'd buy them mostly for Nintendo games. Y'know I think nintendo carved a niché for themselves with the n64 game lineup... No sports games, no serious racing games... Instead we got mario kart or mario sports whatever. The thing is most people who buy a nintendo consoles like nintendo games and everything else is dead weight.

That's not to say Sony and MS variety is a bad thing at all but I do think when you buy a Ninty console you must be aware that your investing in a very, very different style of games release (forget gaming, motion control and all that nonsense for a moment), where games are delayed, ported slowly and your treated pretty badly.. But when the end result are marios and zeldas you take Nintendos back hands and abuse because you know they'll at least, reward you with great games.. eventually.

I have a Wii and a PS3 and PS3 games destroy Wii games in terms of graphics, online play, replayability, add in content, and sound. The Wii games are good for the Wii, but they don't hold a candle to most games on PS3. It's like asking if Gamecube games are better or if PS3 games are better. Or if Atari games are better or SNES games are better. I enjoy my Wii, but it's outclassed by PS3.EmperorSupreme

well, personally, i'd have to go with the ps3. nintendo has put out a few truly awesome titles, but the key word is few. mario galaxy and metroid are great games without a doubt, but virtually every port is borderline busted. plus, if i play another minigame compilation in the next six months i'm gonna vomit. bottom line, waiting 4 or 5 months or more between major first party releases is just getting plain old frustrating, and the third party stuff is laughable aside from rayman raving rabids, which is fun for about an hour if you're playing with some buddies and you're all sufficiently wasted. zack and wiki is waaaay to sacchrine formy tastes, and zelda TP was the most overrated game of the year on any system IMO (thats right. i said it.) at first i regretted buying my ps3 but over the last several months, those doubts have been stamped out. unfortunately, the opposite is true formy wii.

You're missinformed if you call trauma center an average game and Heavenly sword something special.

The Wii's has many acceptional games, and unlike PS3, the games that are really good on Wii can't be played anywhere else. Not to mention the Wii's downloadable library of games, which includes some of the best games ever made.

Comparing the Wii to the PS3 is like comparing the DS to the PSP. Even though PSP has more AA/AAA's than DS, it is widely accepted that DS has a better library of games. Having the most AAA/AA games doesnt decide which system is better. So I'm gonna say the Wii right now since im pretty sure most people are having more fun with their wii than they are with the PS3.Silenthps
