Please stop quoting ps3 vs 360 sales figures.

Ok, I'm getting tired of people arguing about the sales figures for the two consoles. They came out at different times! How can you compare numbers if one came out before the other?

Protip: Every generation consoles come out on different days, sometimes different years. But this has never stopped System Wars, gamers, stockholders, industry analysts, basically anybody, considering them even slates.

It doesn't matter that the PS3 came out a year late. Nobody is going to cut it any slack at the end of the generation for trailing, just like nobody cut the Xbox any slack last generation for coming out almost two years after the PS2.

In general sales is a fact, in weekly sales it's debatable

The Wii came out at the same time as the PS3 but has out sold it more than double. So much for your different release year argument.

Remember sales don't matter except for in October 2009 that is. The only month sales mattered. ;)

Playstation was well known brand for video games. MS just released their first console and it was not doing to well. The only way for MS to succed for their gaming division was to launch first. So that's what they did and they ended up taking a ton of market share from Sony. I'm sure the $600 starting price of the PS3 also helped MS alot too.

Regardless, PS3, Wii, and 360 are in the same gen, therefore it is very validated to compare their sales.

no, its not. If it wre it wouldve already closed the gap with the Xbox 360 by a LOT, the 360 has been and is still outselling the PS3 on a year to year basis.
