Pokemon Grey Announced

The Japanese magazine CoroCoro, notorious for having had the exclusive world reveals of every Pokemon game in the last decade, is at it again. They're teasing the announcement of a major new Pokemon game:

The new CoroCoro issue, released this week, has announced that a brand new Pokémon game is to be revealed. However, unlike people expect, this reveal isn't coming at Jump Festa but is in fact coming in the issue of CoroCoro next month, due out on January 14th 2012 in what they call a world first shocking announcement. It's currently unknown what game will be revealed, whether it will be main series or not but we'll provide information a few days before CoroCoro's release. The last four games that CoroCoro has revealed are, in order, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Pokemon Platinum, Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver and Pokemon Black/White. Meaning that CoroCoro only ever reveals the major Pokemon games, never the crappy spin offs.

Also keep in mind that while CoroCoro is always first with the revealsof Pokemon games, the games themselves are almost always announced earlier, by The Pokemon Company themselves.

The Pokemon Company is scheduled to have a major announcement this Saturday at the Jump Festa.

All of this points either to a Pokemon Gray (which is apparently not an expansion of Black/White, but a sequel, if rumors are to be believed) or to a Ruby/Sapphire remake.

Let the speculation commence.

A sequal would be cool, I hadnt played any of them since silver and I grabbed white and thought it was great. So I am not really sure how the expansions worked, however I do agree that white/black felt pretty complete. I couldn't think of anything else to really add in, or that was needed.

So long as it's a 3DS exclusive and it takes advantage of the hardware, I'm happy. I've really become burned out on Pokemon for anything outside of just replaying the main games, so I'd really like to have a great single player.

Although nothing is official yet, I'm hoping that a release of Gray doesn't take too long to come stateside. I need a good Pokemon game to go through again and Platinum just isn't clicking with me.

Gotta start building my team for this one too. Let's see here... Raichu, Krookodile, Squirtle.... hmm... :P

This is a joke right? Is Nintendo desperate enough to make an expansion set to release next year when their title game that just came out this year? All of their expansions with the exception of Crystal came out YEARS after the origanal. This has to be R/S remake, some items are missing which ironicly were the original items for gen 3 (soul dew) and would completley flesh out the content for the community. If its not the remake then then i have no faith in GF with their scheduling let alone their inability to make 3D pokemanz.

I think it's gonna be Pokemon Grey, and like a true sequel too. Nintendo really needs one for the 3DS, and it wouldn't surprised me if they sped up development.

I really wish that nintendo would just stop releasing to japan first and then bring it the west. its not f***king fair damn it!:cry:

Then again, Game Freak is due for another main Pokemon game (third game or remake). I wouldn't completely rule out this being a main title.

In 2000 (GBC) / 2005 (GBA) there weren't smartphones, tablets or the pressure of another successful handheld (the PSP was untested in 2005) about to release.

Nintendo may rush out a core Pokemon game exclusively for the 3DS just so they can help bolster their library against the Vita and the iDevices/Android market.

sooner or later they will run out of colors and gems..that that is when the series will fall apart:P

Though this one would released much further into the generation then the others did. The games I listed were released on thier platforms before the news ones were released in Japan.

Haven't played a new Pokemon game in awhile. If it takes advantage of the 3DS, I'll get it. My system is quite lacking.

Pokemon Uranium and Polonium. I like the sound of that.

If it's Grey, (Which it probably is) I won't be getting it. The third iteration of the pokemon games is never necessary, they're kind of like GOTY versions of the games. Only there for those who haven't got black or white yet.

What I really want are ruby and sapphire remakes :D
