Pokemon vs Monster Hunter

Both of these are monster hunting franchises, and both of them move a massive amount of units of their respective systems (although Pokemon's appeal is global, and Monster Hunter's is limited to Japan). Both of these are rather good games (although critical reception again puts Pokemon ahead).

Which of these two is your favorite? Which one do you like more? Monster Hunter? Or Pokemon?

Monster hunter i prefer the combat in it and the crafting system is good aswell :P only really 1 thing bugs me is the PSP controls, ah well Vita might rectify thiss in later MH releases on handhelds :P waiting to see who's gettin Monster hunter first and what one will be better that will dictate the handheld i end up buyin :P

Oh no that's terrible. I'm right there with you though. The disk drive on my 2000 is starting to break. Hoping to finish the UMD games I have before it goes completely bad.

Hmmm thats a tough one but i think i will go for monster hunter, pokemon is great to though.

I'm sure Gen V is great, but nothing will ever, ever top Silver for me. So perfect.

Pokemon, I really need to build my competitive team for B/W.

Pokemon overall, but perhaps that is just nostalgia. I haven't played a Pokemon game since a quick stint with Pearl. Monster Hunter Tri was fantastic though. I I'm not sure how Pokemon shapes up against MH today, but from memory Pokemon is much more consistent.

I think I'll go with MH, it requires skill and really learning about your enemy (whether it's their attack patterns, when they're open for counter-attack, what weapon are you best with when fighting it, etc.). and forging new weapons and armor and mixing and matching for different skill sets is just plain addicting.

Pokemon because its addicting and it just kills off hours. And BW is an amazing game itself.

Monster Hunter, simply because of the brilliance that is Monster Hunter Tri, my most played game this gen by far.

Pokemanz. I don't even want to think about how many hours I've spent on all the games :P

pokemon, i may have never finished a pokemon game in my life but I always put about 15 hours in it. I never liked the monster hunter series it's simply bores me to tears
