Ease of use, playing on my huge HDTV and sofa, all games start right away on xbox360, no installs or waiting
Hate KB+Mouse controls and love pad controls
Triple the games to play, with 9.5/10 games like Dark Souls and Gears 3, JRPGs, Fable 2, Lost Odyssey etc and generally all console exclusives
All PC games i want are on my xbox 360, Witcher 2 too and look amazing visually
This is false, Almost all PS3 games you have to install onto the harddrive and to get best results the the 360 you have to install some games, Almost all multiplayer based game have patches and updates Console gaming isnt that easy any more and we have seen some 360 games you have to get up and put in the next disc to continue playing. The latest headache I've had? Connecting my Sanyo 32" LCD TV to my PC (recently upgraded to an Intel Corei3 540 with an NVIDIA GTX-550 and running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) via HDMI. Contrary to whatsome PC fanboys are sayinghere, it's not exactly a walk in the park to do so. First time I hooked it up, it defaulted to 720p and the text and lineslooked all grainy. Things is, my Sanyo 32"'s native resolution (like most LCD TVs under 42")is 1366x768, not 1080p (1920x1080) or 720p (1280x720), and since HDMI does not natively or properlysupport 1366x768 (or any resolution other than 480i/p, 720i/p, and 1080i/p), it would default to 720p and actually think it's the native resolution (in the NVIDIA Control panel, 720p is listed as "recommended"). And then here's what happened: I actually tried to switch to 1366x768, and what happens? The Windows Desktop becomes OVERSCANNED (i.e. it's actually bigger thanthe display area, so the Windows Task Bar ends up BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN!). Why? Because it's actually trying to display itat 720p (which was flashed on the TV screen). It took a lot of fiddling with the NVIDIA control panel's Scaling feature to get it right (about 2 hours, because at times I try to scale it, then somehow Windows changes the resolution to another obscure setting like 1824x1026 (which it usually did), making things worse (in fact in 1080p and other resolutions above 1366x768, the default font settingsin the Windows desktop is barely readable), so I had to keep changing it back to 1366x768). And did I say any resolution other than the 6 above are not properly supported? I have a few old games I still would like to play (like Descent 3), which sometimes go to resolutions like 640x400 in the gamemenu screen. If that happens with an HDMI connection, the screen just goes blank (because 640x400 CANNOT BE DISPLAYED AT ALL under HDMI - only VGA). There was a time I decided to compromise and just go Analog VGA instead (which actuallyhas less problems than HDMI, but even at the native 1366x768, it's not as sharp, eg a number 8 looks like a letter "B" sometimes and vice versa). At least resolutions like 640x400 and 800x600 were workable (but I had to hit the Wide Screen mode button on the remote and set it to non-widescreen or else everything looks fat). But don't try any of the HDMI resolutions when connected via VGA on such a TV - when I tried that (like when I ran the unregistered version of 3DMark11, which only runs at 720p), everything turned GREEN for some reason :O.
Anyway enough rambling. After posting this I'll move over to my PS3 (which has no problems with the same Sanyo 32" LCDTV - whether 720p or 1080p, the display looks beautiful in HDMI) and enjoy a good game of Record of Agarest War.
I have to agree with you, that "ps3 and 360 has to install game to play" statement was hilariously wrong and yet no one is pointing him out, he's trying to act like he even understand what is console gaming other than typical system war stereotype. I don't remember when was last time I have to install a game on my ps3 since MGS4, and I don't think there are any games on PS3 these days need to be installed.
But to TC's question, all your options are pretty stereotypic, I still play my 360 and ps3 because demon's soul and RDR period. never had anything that good on PC.

Since I'm done with PC gaming my votes are tied with the following.
"I don't like configuring graphics settings to get a PC game to run smoothly" and "I got tired of hardware/driver compatibility issues with some PC games".
Building my PC and maintaining it isn't an issue. I'm just tired of having to do what is needed to make sure my games run correctly. Even then there are times where it isn't up to me but the developers to patch the games. That can be a mess all on it's own. The patching works betters on consoles since it's just the one system they have do deal with or two (in the very rare case three) if the game is mulitplatform. I want less frustration and more simplicity in what I look to as a hobby that is suppose to be 100% fun and relaxing. The only frustration I'm going to tolerate going forward is becoming stuck in a game because I don't know what to do or I'm not doing something well enough to progress. I'm sick of having games crash on me, not be optimized, being attached to online account services to the point I don't feel as if I even own my copy of the game but indefinitely renting it. I'm sick of sitting at a computer chair. Yes I can run things to my TV but that requires more of an investment that still leaves all the other problems. Having superior graphics and controls when it comes to certain genres just isn't worth it anymore.
[QUOTE="Gamingclone"]Then how do you buy consoles and console games? :O Gifts from family or poster is young enough that they can ask their parent(s). Pretty sure most of us were in that position at one point in time. Sure many of the younger members still are. Less to invest when it comes to console gaming overall.-does not vote-

I'm going to get richer soon.:lol:If the job isn't good enough, find another.
I think this whole console versus PC needs to go away for good. We can enjoy and use BOTH so the debate falls pretty flat in my opinion.
I started on the Atari 2600 then moved on to the NES, SG, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, and now PS3 so the console is my obvious preference. For me it's definitely the games and ease of use.I have nothing against PC gaming or gamers (except when they get all arrogant and rude towards console gamers for not liking or subscribing to PC gaming or being a PC gamer). I give the PC credit for games/series like "Civilization", "Diablo", "StarCraft", and many others. The whole "mod" thing is pretty cool too. Plus, there is a bit of nostalgia factor with PC gaming (Commodore 64 mostly).
I've said it once and I'll say it again: It's all about the games and I honestly don't care what system it's on-be it console or PC, Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft or whatever else from the past, present, and future.

[QUOTE="Sailor_Enlil"]
LOL. Sounds like a troll here. I have a PS3 and experienced none of the problems or inconviniences you mentioned. Sure some games require installing, but you just need to sit back and relax because it's fully automatic (unlike in the PC, where there's no such thing as "unattended installation" - you gotta make selections on the wizard at some points). And if patches need to be installed? Well, everybody with the same game will get them (so there's no difference between certain gamers), and again, it's fully automatic, and not as long and tedious as in the PC (eg an update on Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty took3 hours!).
Sure Consoles are a kind ofDRM, but not the kind that so intrusive or disruptive to the gaming experience or to the platform (*cough*StarForce*cough*Rootkit*cough*).
And I've been gaming on the PC long enough (sinvce the 90's) to have experienced all the kinds of headaches when things go wrong (eg having to reinstall Windows, fiddling with the registry, driver/patch issues,VIRUSES/MALWARE, etc.) One problem I had with Windows XP before making the jump to Windows 7 (in fact it was one of the reasons I made the switch) was a malfunction ofthe Windows Installer Service - it would not start up! So I could not install or uninstall anything, instead spitting out the error message "service failed to start" (or similar). Trying to start the service manually in the Services snap-in just gave me the same error, and the only way I did get it to start up, after a lot of trial and error, was to set it to Automatic in the Services snap-in and restart Windows, then do the install/uninstall before the service died (which happened around 20 minutes after Windows started up).The latest headache I've had?
