@pdogg93: tlou is one of my favorite games ever... I don't own an Xbox one and the game didn't need a sequel. It was already the Mona Lisa.

Youre wrong and ill informed.

I disagree, I'm still curious to the life Ellie ended up living after all she's been through and what her immunity meant for the world and what she did about it.

@TheEroica: says you. Let’s see, a follow up masterpiece to last gen’s masterpiece? Smart money says yes please.

Or another mediocre halo, or another unevolved version of gears of war? Lems prefer mediocrity, so this is their logical choice.

Riggghttttt cause you know gamers right? Not everyone thinks The Last of Us is a masterpiece just like not everyone thinks Halo or Gears is mediocre. Don't get mad cause people like what they like...lol.

@dagubot: I'm not mad... I'm sharing an opinion. Like what you like, tlou was a really well done complete package. It left me believing games could be more than what they were previously. The respect they had for the ending was incredible...

I just really respect artists who see their work as unique and special... I don't think we need to sequelize everything... Especially the true gems of the medium.

I was talking to @pdogg93...lol.

And I agree I enjoyed The Last of Us and thought it was great but not everybody saw it like that.

I'm expecting some downgrade but usually very minor from there actual gameplay demos. So I hope that is the case with this one. It is there reveals trailers that have been way off and lies.

“Those were all real systems,” Druckmann said to Kotaku. “So at an E3 demo you take complicated systems that are random and we’re making them deterministic and we play it a lot and rehearse it and choreograph it, so we’re showing off very specific things. But those are all real systems that players will experience when they play the game.”

The biggest downgrade will be AI because there is different when you script them vs actual logic working in the game. Something that they have not proved yet. I will believe it when I play it. They took systemic systems that no one knows how well they actually work and made them look very good. To me that should be the focus ND animation and visual will be fantastic. Can we expect AI to be as good as the trailer should be the question posed to them all the times.

That's that basically says it was heavily scripted just by how he mentions "deterministic" and "choreograph".

What I seriously doubt is that next gen looking arrows on the ground and arrows on the dead body and machete pickups. It looks like a more polished pick up animation of Crysis 1. Have they actually accounted for the various angles of how those are picked up? If not then I'm guessing it's an automatic system where you pickup those items right after any 1 engagement but the pickup could be optional.

Could be as fake as bullet counting in TLOU reveal though.

If anyone can pull off what we saw in that demo it would be Naughty Dog. They have some damn talented developers!

@j2zon2591: To me pick up animations themselves were the ones that looked believable. There the ones that had video game defects. Knife disappearing into her back pocket. That running pickup throw combo the item popped up into her hand by few frames if u look closely. that run throw can just be button combo. You already throw brick at plp in the first game. Those aren't new it's the way they smoothly blend into other animations that's unbelievable.

In uc4 and ll they have already demonstrated some crazy attention to detail blending animations plenty of crazy moments of Chloe or drake mixing up traversal combat. Kicking dudes they drop gun in mid air, grab and shoot them with it etc. The smoothness and how much coverage is unbelievable step up on the demo.

Yeah on the AI there is no proof it's going to be that good. It's heavily scripted probably not even finished and someone practiced the play through.

Yep I've also watched the vid about the bottle being sucked up to els hands that's why I didn't bring that up.

UC4 imo still has the best traversal animations for 3rd person and illusion of weight even compared to AC games but AC seems to be more for a different broader and faster traversal.

Again, I'm really skeptic with the arrows and weapons being picked up from the ground after a kill.

Again, might just be an automatic system where el picks up right after a kill which would still look impressive.

I can't remember UC4's weapon pickup animations. Might look for some vids of it when I feel like it. I've played that game twice before.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about analysing trailers to that extent and comparing them to finished games to pick out the differences. I trust that Naughty Dog will make another great game, and again, use their brilliance to show off what the system they're working on can do.
