disk errors dont count becuase they have to do with someone mistreating their disks or just placing them in at an angle or something, only permanent problems count as hardware defects. having the three red lights whenever you turn it on, so your xbox is useless, that is a quality issue. freezing problems do not necesarily count as defects, ive had an occasional freeze with every console ive ever had. also, yes ive had to replace my xbox once (this weekend infact).InsaneBasura
DRE's don't count? Ask early PS2 adopters what they have to say about that. DRE's CAN be caused by the disc being dirty or whatnot, doesn't mean that's always the case. It's kind of similar to freezing issues. Some happen due to software bugs, some don't. After 3 freezes in as many games, things should be pretty clear though.
And I can speak from personal experience. I had precisely zero DRE's with my first two 360's, which I owned for a total of around a year. I've had my current 360 for 4 months and have gotten 6 DRE's. 5 in Guitar Hero II and one in Forza 2. Both of them brand new, not evena hint of dust on them. One could argue that those specific discs were somehow faulty, but how likely is that?
Yeah I meant it more as in those circular disk scratches the xbox makes sometimes, or problems where it won't read siks. I just meant any serious problem. And yes, recurring freezes count if they seriously disrupt play.
