i used to for the N64, mainly because the PAL version were terrible. all PAL versions were pretty bad in those days but the N64 was by far the worst. some games had borders that nearly took up half of the screen like Wave race 64 compared to the NTSC version it was a joke. i had to pay over the odds but it was well worth it to have those games how they were intended to be.
When I got here in England, we got a PAL Wii (used) with PAL games (though all of what we picked up were released in America).
Just the occasional title that I really want or when I want to see if there's any difference in a game that I was obsessive about which sometimes leads to odd surprises like the Japanese Maken X where a lot of the graphics were very different and happily you could parry things that you couldn't in the U.S. version. My friend imports almost all of his games though as he's a professional translator and he's just used to always having the Japanese edition of everything from quite a ways back.
I imported every NIS title this gen from the US and I imported a lot of other titles, mostly RPGs, because they either do not make it to the EU or they do not get the same / much later support of patches and DLC. Thanks to the cheap Dolar and strong swiss franc I usually pay only about 2/3 of what games cost here. I also buy a lot from the US PSN because a lot of times stuff is there first and again, it's cheaper
[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"][QUOTE="Espada12"]Yeah.. it's 100 dollars cheaper if I do that.Espada12Where do you live? :|In the caribbean. Oh and my bad I was listing that in my money lol. It's around 25US cheaper if I import.Even with insane delivery fees? That's crazy.

Aren't their taxes generally lower than the rest of the EU? I dunno I could be wrong. Down here though it works like this for retailers.
Cost of Game + Shipping + Customs + Profit.
If I buy from steam I just pay Cost of Game (which is why I am primarily a PC gamer, works out cheaper for me and steam deals are @_@ ).
If I buy from amazon I pay Cost of game + Shipping + Customs. Customs is russian roulette in my country, you never know what you are going to pay and I honestly think it depends on the mood of the customs officer. For instance I brought in a PS3 for myself and paid 300 in customs.. I did the same for a friend and paid 900 in customs (this is in my money of course). It was silly.

I don't know if it has to do with taxes, but the prices drop a hell of a lot quicker in the UK compared to other European countries. The fact that the games are uncensored too means that you're paying less for more.Regarding your issue, I take it you like digital distribution, huh? :P That's another advantage it has. No delivery fees! :D
I import plenty of games.
PS1
Final Fantasy VIII, Front Mission 2*, Persona, Persona 2 Innocent Sin*, Persona 2 Eternal Punishment, Suikoden II, Biohazard, Biohazard 2, Biohazard 3, Silent Hill
Saturn
Panzer Dragoon Azel, WachenRoder*, Terra Phantastica*, Tactics Ogre, Grandia, Lunar, Lunar 2, Deep Fear*
Dreamcast
Grandia 2, Eternal Arcadia
PS2
Puyo Puyo 15th*, Siren, Siren 2*, SMT III Nocturne, Rule of Rose
PS3
Final Fantasy XIII
PSP
The 3rd Birthday
So I own a lot of Japanese versions of games released here. Anything marked with a * hasn't been released in NA. I didn't bother to list the titles I own, but don't care about.
Today I'll be importing a new title. Either Saigo no Yakusoku no Monogatari or Zero no Kiseki (both for PSP).

I love DD haha, it has really made my life easier especially since I just get NA pricing without the NA tax! or any tax for that matter :). I'd prefer eastern Europe pricing (they get dem games cheap there!) but NA is still a much much better deal than I would get otherwise.

Thats why I import most of my games from UK (Im from continental part of EU) :)
Sometimes i do it but not very often, got a bunch of Mega Drive and Saturn games that way.Arach666
i've got an American cart of Madden 91 xD since it was one of those games that was a bugger to get this side of the pond.Well my dad technically did since a guy used to do import selling from his house years ago.
Strangely that megadrive and that game were both bought literally hours before my mum went into labour with me so they are of some sentimental value to e aswell xD.
Was gonna import FFXIII if it was a staggered launch between US and EU since it would be annoying, and i had PS3 so it was all good and region free :D
