They are different games so I won't feel like I'm playing the same thing, which will make going from one game to the other from time to time not a problem at all. :)

you will not get accurate results in here because the lemmings will come in here and all vote for GTA because they are not getting MGS4, and this website is infested with lemmings, trust me.
It's strange, but it looks like they'll be releasing around the same time frame. Funny, given that they are the two games I bought a PS3 for... oh, well.
I'll buy both. Then I'll have to decide how to divide my time between them.
Both. i will prob beat mgs first but GTA has way more replay value to me. and seeing as how amazing this one looks i will probably just drive around collecting all the cars and just exploring.
GTA 4, brother owns PS3 and most of the time its up in Newark, at his College. Besides, I prefer the GTA series over MGS series. Great series, however.

GTA III and Vice City were amazing, San Andreas was great as well. MGS2 was tolerable, 3 was so godawful that I quit after an hour.
well really te only thing these games have in common are that they are both great however im going with MGS4 cause i really am wrapped up in that story and i want to know how its gonna play out
I picked 'both' but if you really pushed me one one answer i probably would have said MGS4 but only by a grain of sand, mainly cause that story needs to be told, the end has come....well for Metal Gear and im just so damn eager to find out but at the same time GTAIVs story looks very Sopranoes, i can't wait for both they just look like a absolute joy to play.
I'd buy MGS4 because of the richier experience and great story, and gameplay. On top of that, GTA 4 is a casual crowd favorite which means its sales will be insane. Which means it will be greatest hits $19.95 before you blink your eye's. To purchase it later for half the price.
Interesting that you chose to quote his post instead of mine, where I point out that I have a PS3 and then go on to mention that GTA humiliates MGS. There goes your argument.
I have the option of playing MGS - I'd just rather have broken glass packed into every orifice of my body than actually be forced to play it.
