POLL: Resistance 2 vs Gears of War 2 (PS3 vs XBOX 360 Exclusives)

So it seems as for a certain week for releases there has been a fair bit of talk about which game is better; the PS3 or XBOX 360 Exclusive?

All I was wanting to know is what people prefered, and why?

People have their own opinions and there is no fact on which is better, but what do you say?

depends on wat kinda gameplay u like...u cant say either one wins

still waiting to receive my copy of Geow2... as regards resistance2 it wont be out before later this month (EU)... i cannot say which one is better, but surely i'll enjoy both games :)

no offence but resistance2 vs Geow2 always ends up PS3 fanboys vs 360 fanboys so its practically a useless poll....

But if i were to have an opinion .

based on gears 1 and resistance 1 , i cant see why anyone would argue.

Gears was the first true next gen game, awesome graphics, awesome gameplay, awesome online.

ResistanceFOM was a game with bad graphics, average bland gameplay and probably the the most bland boring online iv ever played.

Based on that and what i have played of gears 2 already im going to have to say gears 2.

I will be giving resistance 2 a go tho

all PS3 fanboys will veto to R2

and all X360 fanboys will veto GEARS 2

this is just a poll to see how much cows and lems are here

Gears hands down! IMO better story, gameplay and multiplayer. Only owned the first Resistance and traded it in after a week.che5ter666

R1 and R2 are so different in so many ways its retarded. R1 was the generic shooter everyone talks about. and while R2 is still pretty generic, its more along the style of COD 4. hell your controller is even mapped the same way. evrything got changed or tweaked. wheres as gears 2 is a true sequal. nothing changes, it just continues the story with some graphical upgrades

my friend got gears 2 early and i played him yesterday, it was fun but only because i got to talk smack in his face whenever i killed him. R2 is fun regardless of who you're playing with. for me, it has to be R2

but this thread will ultimately fail because the fanboys will rip it to shreds

I wasn't being a Lem with that post, it was a genuine opinion. I will still pick it up to see what all the hype is about. But, I've just been let down by PS3 games this year. So my expectations are low at the moment. My sig may change yet.

Im a cow , and i actually remember saying to a friend of mine FFXIII was going multi and FFVersusXIII staying exclusive(still this wasnt the general opinion between cows, hardly) .(why did i feel the need to say this???)

haven't played eithr of them yet, but I've played and finished both Resistance and Gears 1. I liked Resistance better. I think that might be because Resistance was the first next gen (actually current gen) game I played when it just released. Gears I played only three months ago. Let me tell you, Gears did not withstand the test of time very well, though I must say that I can see why people wo played it when it just released thought it was so frigging awesome, if I compare it to other games that were out back then.

I think for me it will be very close between the two second installments. Still I think I'll be preferring Resistace. I like its story much better and the slightly faster paced and more difficult gameplay (Gears is of course a TPS) appeals a little more to me. I'm one of the (few?) people that thought REsistance had a pretty good story, for an FPS at least. Gears on the other didn't event try. Don't know how that is for Gears abd Resistance 2 though.

Anyway im sure some people will vote R2 and Gears2 without owning either game.

And you say there is evidence gears2 is better ? Its all opinion i prefer R2 Vs Gears1 (cuz i havent played Gears2 yet).

EDIT: I have aready played Gears2(great game) still prefer R2.

Surprising poll results.

Havent played R2 yet, but it would be EXTREMELY difficult for any game this year to top Gears 2. It's just got that extra level of polish many games are missing, no doubt ill pick up R2 when my next pay cheque rolls in, but I don't see that beating Gears 2.

That may be true but don't overlook Horde mode, it's fun as hell. I have no doubt Horde mode plays as good as it looks, just cant get enough of R2 Co-op

as far as gears goes...the producers don't tell you what the locusts are...

they dont give you alien guns to fight with

the characters look cartoony.

resistance is better hands down. its better than both halo and gears.

halo has too many midget sized aliens...

Lems will say Gear 2, Cows will say R2, from someone who has played both, I'd say bothare good games but I prefer R2 gameplay over Gears 2 and I prefer Gears 2 graphics over R2. Single player and Co-op I give to R2. So I guess I prefer R2, but you cant go wrong with either so enjoy your game. rockydog1111
