If anyone thinks LBP is the better platformer, then wow...SMR-VenomWhy? Both games are fun in their own ways. Where SMG is a singleplayer game, LBP allows 4 friends to have a blast with each other. I've seriously not had as good a time with a game with my IRL friends, as I've had with LBP in a long time. Also yeah the game is short, but try finishing it 100% (not trophies though) + the MGS update, it should take some time, and when LBP2 arrives it'll just have even more things to do..

That was ****ing brilliant. I absolutely loved that! Hell, it was better than the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy music videos I've seen. :Phttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOh968qao74&feature=channel_page

Funny it took me longer to get all of the stickers, aces, items, and trophies in LBP than to get 242 stars in Super Mario Galaxy.I haveboth and thier both good but I have to give it to Mario. LBP is so short it only seems like half a game compaired to galaxy.

They're both great in their own ways, however Mario takes the cake. It has a much more refined and polished gameplay. However for thoseof you that have played LBPwith some friends for 4 player gaming, it's quite a wonderful experience. (I'm not talking about playing on PSN.)
Makes me want to replay the game all over again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOh968qao74&feature=channel_page

LBP has the same tired old gameplay mechanics of 2-D platformers from the 1980s.Wow, really people Mario, I stopped playing those games when I was about 7. LBP has endless possibilities from playing new levels everyday and making your own, it truly is a lot of fun. Super Mario...eh...I played my 5 year old cousins copy at his house and it was super boring....

Super Mario Galaxy by far. LittleBigPlanet's level editor is great, but it means absolutely nothing if the gameplay itself is quite shallow which in turn makes me not interested in building levels for it. Galaxy's gameplay is simple to get into, but elements within it create a complex gameplay that keeps the player wanting more.

Nope, 1980's 2D platformers were better than LBP gameplay wise. Megaman 2 smacks LBP around in terms of gameplay and I'd hardly call those 2D games tired.

Well, yeah, but I was just being kind. After playing Super Mario Sunshine...
Little Big Planet, the creativeness and the fact that its a fun mulitplayer game, must give nintendo a few tips and things to think about.
No game like LBP has been like a chick magnet.
A lot of girls, non gamers too, like playing this at parties.

LBP may have a ton more features than SMG, but when the gameplay those features are built around is inferior, it doesn't really matter.
SMG is really a platformer above all other platformers, so that includes LBP.
SMG is a very awesome game.
I love both equalliy. They both play differently enough. SMG is 3D, LBP is a side scroller. Both are fun as hell to play :P
Seriously?? Take away the user generated content and tools, and LBP falls FLAT. VideoGameGuyTaking away user generated content?? Taking away the creation tools?? That's what Little Big Planet is all about. That's like saying take out Mario, take out jumping and SMG falls FLAT.

We're talking galaxy, not sunshine.
The multiplayer, particularly the level creator and sharing of said levels? Sure, ok.. But not imagination, or being creative. Galaxy is that. Nothing seen in LBP can compare to the design of Galaxy, but that's alright. No game is so superbly designed. Galaxy is art. You just have to play it.
Thanks for specifying in exactly what sense you're asking which game is better. Anyway...
SMG wins at gameplay and LBP has superior graphics.
LBP for the map editting. lol, my personal favorite is a rocket swing i made. if you stay on you just spin at ever-increasing speeds until the elastic your on stretches too far and you set off the outer trigger, blowing up the explosives below and on the swing with you on it. if you jump off, as soon as the swing moves a millimeter in toward's it's pivot it fires the inner trigger and kills you. you can only live by jumping really far sideways or straight up. and only one guy can grab the swing. great for pissing off friends.
also, my red button.
never press the red button.
or spikey rocket kills you.
lol, i put a piggie burst up above the button, so who wudn't press it, but if u press piggie opens and it's empty, then a rocket with spikes hits you full force. =D
idk why smg is winning. IMO, lbp is the most influential game of this generation. smg is good but IMO can't touch lbp. (SMG=9/10 LBP=9.8/10). as i've said 100's of times, LBP is the most fun i've had. its just so amazingly fun when you have 3 other people right next to you laughing and playing the crazyass levels.
LBP isn't influential, and SMG is higher rated on Metacritic. SMG is winning because more people find it fun.idk why smg is winning.
