Poll: The wii has the absolute WORST line up of 2009, maybe even this gen!

Let me start by showing System wars the 2009 AAA rankings.

Xbox 360:

AAA: 6(1)

PS3:

AAA: 10 (4)

Wii:

AAA: 2(0)

Okay, so looking at wii's line up ive noticed the lack of killer apps/console sellers I.E AAAE. There is none, heck not even one. Its like the ps3 back in 2007, but at least it had 1 AAAE, a heck of alot multiplats (cod4, orange box, AC etc), but thats not the case here as wii doesnt get any good multiplats. Now heres the sad thing, Sheep are actually bragging about the wii's line up and declaring it the winner of 2009...........:lol: And there reason? A games.............:lol::lol::lol:. Now lets get this straight, since when in the history of system wars has there been any cow/hermit/lemming brag about a title scoring an A. Lol I remember when motorstorm and R&C got a 7, Lemmings would rip sooooo hard on the cows. Not one title has come out this year on the wii that makes us goo :O :O :O I needa Wii!!!!! (unless your obese, a mother of 4, an elderly, a toddler, get drunk 24/7 etc).

At least with the lemmings, they got multiplats like street fighter 4, RE5 and other big multiplats comming out like MW2 and AC2, and also a little Exculsive by the name of Forza 3 :). If it werent for those 6 AAA games (which niether are on the wii so dont give me no exclusive this and that crap) 360 would probably have the crappiest year.

And whats worse, with crap online, there goes alot of lasting appeal with half the wii games. I mean, we have all played galaxy and collected all 120 stars but whats next? Have another go at it and beat the game 27 more times? Brawl's online is abysmal, mario kart wii's is okay but whats the point with no in game chat (imagine trash talking the little kids after placing first :D). It just goes to show that wii is n fact a side console and its not suprising that so many people claim there wii is collecting dust. Wii has the absolute worst line up of 2009, and in my opinion, the worst lineup of this Gen. And if you sheep/cows/hermits/lemmings/hedgehogs/worms/what ever console animals dont agree, Ill add a poll.

PS: Hope you cows like the grey font, its to remind you of killzone 2 (i was gunna use purple/pink for the sheep, but this is ps3's year to shine ;))

First of all, the Wii has FLAT OUT a better exclusive lineup than the Xbox360 in 2009. Second of all, if you consider Tiger Woods 10 as an exclusive for the Wii (as it should be), it even gives the PS3 a run for its money.

Tiger Woods 10 is an exclusive to the Wii (AAAE).

Seriously though, I don't really mind the small lineup this year. In fact, I barely have any time to play videogames anymore. I still have three or four games that are waiting to be opened once winter break comes. Also, the 2010 lineup for Wii is (in my opinion) superior to those of the other consoles. So right now, I'm working on saving up for all of thos games that I want to purchase.

Yet in terms of exclusives, the argument could be made that it's been better than the PS3s, and it's a given that the Wii's exclusive lineup has been better than the Xbox 360s.Stevo_the_gamer

Nothing against LKS, dec game, but not really a megaton like ODST or uncharted 2.

Who cares about the scores? My favorite games released this year are BlazBlue Calamity Trigger (it got an 8 ) and Klonoa (it got a 7.5). So what if 360 and PS3 have more 9's on GS? If people like what they're playing (Punch-Out!! and ExciteBots are both fantastic games) than who cares about the scores? Yeah technically for System Wars the Wii 'loses again' but a lot of people have had fun with the games released so far, especially Punch-Out!!.

That does seem to be the case. I think it'd be a lot better if people actually argued about the merits of one game over another rather than which game outsold what or what scored a 9 (because anything else can only be a horrible game I suppose). But hey, there's a time to dream and it's in my sleep. :lol:

i didnt read the op because of the off text colour, but i can tell you right now that it had the worst lineup of 2009. of this gen, well... that depends on what demographic you are part of. personally, id say the psp had the worst library of this gen, but if you arent counting consoles, then yeah, the wii for sure.

So your saying that the 9.5/Goty it got did not help it at the slightest to achieve 8.14m sales? Funny, mario sunshine was equally hyped but flopped and sold overall sold worst than galaxy (its almost past mario 64 to). Oh and by the way, dont worry about my opinion, just dont state what other people like then liek you did before ;).

Do you think the average person even bother to check what game wins Game of the Year? Are you kidding me? They might glance at a review to see if something's good, but if it's popular they're ready for it. My aunt knew about Galaxy before it was released and bought it for her son. She doesn't know about 9.5 and GotY (and only on GS, I mean, you make it sound like everyone uses this one site as the end all be all of games info, chances are they're using something like Yahoo).

C'mon dude, let's be real. The only people who care about numbers and GotY are 3/4's of the people on here. The other 1/4 are trying to have a decent conversation.

Believe it or not, multiplats are important components of console libraries. Resident Evil 2 didn't stop being important to the PS1's library and Grandia didn't stop being a great game on the Saturn because it was also on PS1 (SAT was Japan only, but I digress).

It's absurd to suddenly stop counting multiplats in the debate between all 3 consoles because they can easily place two consoles above another, as is the case with this gen.

I think you missed the point. It's not about you. it's about what's available to everyone. Not everyone is going to like every console and not everyone is going to like every game. That being said, I'd probably enjoy LKS over RE5 too.

It's a known fact that Wii Sports alone is the best selling game in history, a title that once belonged to Super Mario Bros on the NES. With the amount of Wii consoles sold one would assume that Nintendo flagship titles will not only be bolstered by hardcore fans, but also by the new casual market that knows Mario's name and face by heart even if they had never played a videogame before.

Yes, hype and scores count, but only to a marginal extent. It's overall quality and word of mouth that spreads the fire. There are a lot of Wii owners and they all know that Galaxy is one of the best games on that system.

Well, I guess that would depend on the person. Either way, you're still not playing the GS score, you're playing the game. The score is a simple (very simple) rule of thumb. Nothing more.

GS rated Lost Winds (easily the most enjoyable DLed game I played last year) as "Mediocre". Apparently we all can't perceive and enjoy high quality.

I can see what your trying to say, but hype and score do count more than you think. Take for example, galaxy, mario kart and Brawl, All award winning games that scored high on many sites. Behind wii sports, wii fit, and wii play, these 3 are the top sellers on the wii and have all scored high and have a many, many sales. What im trying to say is that the higher ranked wii games tend to sell more. It might not be the case all the time, but most of the time, the quality games tend to sell more.

If it werent for nintendo aiming there entire console at non-gamers, these 3 quality games would no doubt be leading the sales figures.

Sometimes there are bad reviews. But there are bad reviews for PS3 just as well as there are bad reviews for Wii. Gamespot reviews give us a general idea of quality for the games released over the period of a year.

You call these debates? In System Wars?

Anyway, the means of scores determine the common opinion. The more popular the opinion among those that have played the game, the better the chance that another person will agree. Now, I understand that this is GS, and that the common excuse is to try and use only GS reviews because of that. Still, they are only one opinion in a sea of opinions on any given game (some on both extremes). To claim "worst" (which, in and of itself, is subjective in relation to video games) line-up based on isolated scores (ie, isolated opinions) from any individual site is a little unfair, don't you think? Personally, I've always felt that using a game's "metascore" to be the far better route to take when getting a point across.
