What do you guys think about wii's motion sensing controller? I am asking this to see what people think of wii now. i am not asking anything else of wii's feature because the motion sensing controlles is probably the only thing that makes the wii stay alive in this war. Also wii doesnt have any other features that ps3 and 360 cant do. Thats why the controller made the high wii sales or it wouldve been another gamecube.

Anyway the answer you pick tells me wether you like the wii or not.

In my opinion, i am guessing that if you think the controllers are good, you like the wii and if you dont like the controls, then you dont like the wii.

They have potential, but I'm not convinced yet. Only 3-4 games have used it well yet.

Very few games use them well, but in them games the controls make the experience better. Like Zack and Wiki and Medal of Honour Heroes 2.

Biased Much?

It's a new technology, it will take time for all developers to get a firm grasp to properly implement Motion control. 3D engines sucked for five years before they became consistent, and there are still many games released now that the 3D camera System is unbearable.

But this thread doesn't really have a place in a debatable forum and should be locked.

everyone seems to think that all the wiimote can do is detect motion. everyone seems to forget that little pointer at the end that, imho, is a far more important feature than the motion sensing. RTSs would actually be feasible on consoles with a wiimote and nunchuck setup (and i mean big ones like a total war game) for example. motion sensing is good too and handy for some games but its that pointer that reallys adds to it imho.

and none of ure options quite fit what i think TC (there all pretty negative) so i wont vote.

personally i think there great when used properly (so avoid crap games). MP3 with a normal controller? EEEEWWWWW no thanks. id loe a wiimote and nunchuck setup for halo and gears, i missed them when using the normal controller. the accuracy the wiimote provides is second only to a mouse.

so yeah, im happy with the wii controls overall. it does have some limits (complex beat em ups like soul caliber dont seem to work well with it at all) but, then, so does every other control sceme. i dont buy crap games for it though so that probably giving me a better impression of it.

Your poll is biased against the Wii. I don't see a really positive answer to choose from.

Among the one already mentioned, No More Heroes and Trauma Center are awesome with the Wii controls.

Hate the range and positional problems you get with using them in a large-ish room on a big HDTV. Love the concept but feel it hasn't been exploited to its fullest in 'most' games so far.

Mario Kart will make or break them for me.

I like them alot.. In games like Resident Evil 4 and the DBZ fighting games they were brilliant.. Though I think devs need to know when they should use them.. Because I think Marvel Ultimate Alliance was absolutely ruined due to shoddy controls, when they wouold have been just fine on a regular gamepad.

lol I was thinking the same thing. It can't really be a poll if all the options sway it one way.

Anyway if this was actually not a fanboy made poll and had an option for the Wii controls being good and working great on certain games and and then sucking on some of the others I would have picked that. So far for the most part I don't have a lot of problems with the controls on most games, but there are a few that I would rather just have a game pad for.

I think the controllers are good with some exceptions. Some of the buttons are a little awkward to shift to on the remote (although more time with it may resolve this issue for me). Also, I would really like to see a game with 1:1 controls (for say a sword or light-saber), but this has more to do with developers and implementation than an inherent aspect of the controller.

They're great when used right, but most developers seem to think its allright to slap some waggling into a game at the last minute and call it a day, and even some of the great games like RE4 and MP3 have a couple of issues. What I would like to see is a "training" mission where you can adjust settings through some mini-games, sort of like how many FPS's will include a section where they let you try both regular and inverted controls.

They are ok, but definitely could be better. Right now, only Nintendo is making good use of them.

They bring some great potential to gaming as we know it, though developers will have to learn how to use it properly. What I really want to see is a swordfighting or other such game that lets you wield the Wiimote just like a sword/lightsaber/etc. No, I don't mean "shake the Wiimote and execute canned slashes", I mean "swing the Wiimote exactly how you would swing the sword". Something like playing Die by the Sword with VSIM control mode, only with a 6DoF interface involving the Wiimote moving through actual space rather than a mere 2DoF mouse or joystick. The Wiimote should not only let you swing the weapon, you also ought to be able to make stabbing motions and the like as well. The only thing that worries me is that the accelerometers in the Wiimote may only be able to discern motion, not relative position, thus making the implementation very difficult. I surely hope that this isn't the case. (Finally, I think that while the Wiimote would make an ideal FPS or RTS interface thanks to the IR pointer's precision, the limited hardware power of the console could get in the way for such genres. It probably wouldn't hamper RTSs as much provided that they're not going for a Supreme Commander level of scale, but FPSs will definitely be hindered, as we won't have things like large environments full of breakable objects and whatnot.)

They can be overdone a lot of the time and just implemented poorly, but when they're good they're damn good. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and Metroid Prime 3, for example, have some top-notch controls.

I think they are better than anything else on the market. A welcome change, I hope MS and Sony copy them so we can get something like them on more than one console.

If your poll had an option for something between ok and amazing I'd choose that one. Out of 5 options you have 3 positive options but two seem similar but one has something about them being repetitive. Buttons are repetitive too, you push them.
