This means the month Halo came out the 360 lost ground to the Wii globally.(Wii outsold the 360 by alot more then 20000 in Japan)

And the Wii not being a software console? or the 360 having a ungodly attached rate? How much software is MS saling in Japan? Or in Euopre where the Wii has the lead also?

The world is not US. (the US is the only place that the 360 has the hardware lead still)

Get over it, the Wii hardware sales don't reflect on the quality of games it supplies.

its a gimmick, cheap outdated technology, aimed towards kiddies an casuals and fueled by crappy shovel ware.

I think you didn't see the releases the Wii got this before the holydays...

Fire Emblem

Resident Evil: Umbrela Chronicles

Super Mario Galaxy

Manhunt 2

Trauma Center New Blood

Zack and Wiki

Battalion Wars 2

Soulcalibur Legends...

Like it or not, these games got potential and many are already strong established franchises...

Only fanboys see gloom and doom with Nintendo these days...

[QUOTE="Bromz"][QUOTE="Erkidu"]I'm going with option B. It's hilarious that the 360 could barely scrape over the top of the Wii with it's MAIN FLAGSHIP title releasing. This is magnified by the fact that the Wii had no major software releases at all.Erkidu
Wii is not a software driven console, I doubt the release of Mario Galaxy will boost it as much as Halo as boosted 360's sale.

The Wii has had a higher software attach rate than both the 360 and PS3 since it launched. :|

Do you even know what higher software attach rate means?

I owned everyone this NPD.

[QUOTE="Redgarl"]If Halo 3 can't do a damn about Wii sales, we know how it's going to end for M$... they will barely sell over 25 millions console.Jandurin

I see 35 million. Maybe 20 million for PS3.

I will probably got a 360 for Too Human trilogy, so I give you that I don't really know, but I don't see a major establishement. The N64 sold about that amount, so I really doubt MS can do it.

I think it's different enough from the Wii to keep developers interested and people buy enough games as well. And games bring gamers.

I really hope Too Human is as good as I want it to be.

I am picking option B. To put it in simple terms, Halo 3 was big. Very big. Apparently even the biggest. Nintendo had nothing. How did Nintendo manage to stay so close to Microsoft in terms of hardware sales, though? If Microsoft's most anticipated title can barely scrape past the Wii while the Wii itself had nothing major to boast about, then that's ownage to Microsoft I believe. Hexagon_777

I absolutely agree with you.

The 360 does have the highest software attach rate so far. Just not by much over the Wii.

As long as the Wii keeps selling so ridiculously, the 360 will keep its attach ratio. :P

And 25 million is what the Xbox sold, and the 360 is doing a smidge better than what the Xbox did. I can see the 360 selling 30-35 million, easy.

i think that it was a win for the gaming industry! that two seperate platforms and the ds could do so well in a usually slow selling month!
